Hey guys, Been settling in rather nicely on this forum while i put together my first US airborne loadout. I've heard a few of you guys talk about dough boys so i was wondering if its open to anyone?
Are there any other requirements apart from the obvious, that need to be addressed?
It's really more of an association for US players, mate. No units to be badged up as, no ranks structure and NO ball-busting.
I guess you could consider yourself as a member already!

lol well if its that easy. Im happy to be aboard
There is one condition....
Turn up to an event and play!
S

as the others have said. Its more just a general association of US players as we got a little lost in the swamp for a bit. No units, ranks, requirements. just turn up and have fun. we did have a doughboys training day early this year and we're having a doughboys sponsored game in september.

rhysd2, spoke to george today at jay jays, he says he will sort out the boots, sorry its taking a while its a small shop with a HUGE amount of gear.
np thanks Nige he did warn me it may take him a few days ![]()

Its what its all about at the end of the day. Wouldn't spend the time to get the correct gear just to walk around the house in it...although i'll admit i have been doing that lately. More so the helmet...just getting a feel for it.
Prior to the Hurtgen game in december we did toy with having the doughboys badged as 35th ID for Infantry games, 82nd for Airborne games and 6th Armoured for every1 else. But really every1 wants to wear whatever they want. As it turned out at the game, we had almost every unit covered from 2nd ID, Big Red 1, 82nd, 29th, 101st, 35th, 6th armoured .... the list went on!
Turn up, play, enjoy yourself and most importantly,.... look good doing it all!
Welcome to the Doughboys! ![]()

Does this mean that any of the guys that played as US at Haggard are now part of the Doughboys?

if you'd care to be death then yes
its purely voluntary

If you wanna be in then you are welcome ![]()

Would love to if thats the case ![]()

well i know how old you have to be to go in cia games is 18 how old is it for the doughboys as i am struggling to find places and groups that would accept under the age of 18 ???
Doughboys is a loosely affiliated group of players that attend CiA and other games, not game organisers per se.
You would probably be best to get yourself to a few open days at other sites. Keep your eye out for non-CiA WW2 games organised at other sites in the next few months. I believe there's a game being organised at Fireball near Birmingham in the new year and I know they allow under 18s:

Heh, Fireball is 18's and over now!

Heh, Fireball is 18's and over now. Sorry!
