running a small game at fireball (birmingham) october 19th "Road to Avellino" (part one of our ongoing italian series)

Sept 1943 units from the 34th and 36th U.S. infantry are close to Avellino , but with strong resistance and constant German counter attacks the front line is fluctuating , both sides are pretty well dug in with a patch of no mans land that both are trying to use to extend their lines. US orders are to advance and push forward their lines for the big push on Avellino to open up the way to Benevento , a large air raid is planned for dawn to put the germans on the back foot for the big push.

If the Americans can take this land they will be on the doorstep of Avellino .....if not it will buy the germans more time to dig in and fortify their defences

As we have to drive through npf to get to fireball we have to be on site for 9.10am at latest , then we can't get off till 4.30pm unless its a emergency

we are aiming for about 15 v 15 thou at a push could go to 20 v 20 currently 17 germans 16 allied booked

ok what i can tell you so far is (as this is our first proper one like this , these may change over time , like lower ammo limits etc )

squad based game , not a run around do what you want open day style game , if you need to lone wolf and fire bursts of 50 bbs then this is not the game for you :)

fps on all guns is a max 360 not a drop over there are NO 500 snipers due to the style of the site, though mainly woodland it does not have too many open areas , our games on this site are not suitable for vehicles

cost is £15.00 (bring lunch)

game will be split into 2 halves with a lunch break

we will have bbs , pyros and gas etc for sale

basic soldiers are 300 ammo and 2 nades per life
support is 1000 ammo and 1 nade per life
side arms can be carried but ammo comes out of your per life amount

if not firing on single shot , then short bursts onlys

1 bandage per player +1 more wearing a helmet
Each side will have a medic, that will carry a limited supply of red bandages that can replace one white bandage (so you may be able to have 2 white and 1 red bandage on you )

1 Co , 1 medic and 2 squads per side , rolling mission objectives

No man goes to war alone , if you squad drops down to 1 player you may not advance , you may go to ground and await squad mates to return or you can retreat back to your squad members / Hq etc

fixed hq for both sides and 1 mobile hq for both sides for regens and reloading

You can only leave a HQ (after regen) if you have at least 1 live teammate to push off with so a group of 2 min

this game is set in Italy 1943 - ok the rocket plan is shelved due to future plans ;) but we are still fighting around an area in italy as the the lines from the allied and the german side are changing :)

Co and Medic do not come under the no man goes to war alone , as they will be moving from squad to squad as needed , but will count as part of the minimum while they are attached to a squad

will be limited ammo , morning game with objectives short lunch break then back out for afternoon game

can get on site from 8 am and maccies close by :) brief at 9.30 for 10 am sharp start lunch 12.30 - 1.30 then back out till 4 pm and can get off site 4.30 :)

Held at fireball squadron airsoft club in bassetts pole birmingham , which for those that don't know is a club run airsoft site now in its 15th year :) , at the back of National paintball fields , its paint free thank god lol

Cost is £15.00 for the day and spots need to be booked

rules will be a mix of joshs and others , to suit our site etc . (will have more details next week as we finalise )

any questions send me a pm , cheers

Once again I'm busy that weekend but would be happy to attend any future events, diary permitting. A little more notice is always a help.

Cheers

s we have to drive through npf to get to fireball we have to be on site for 9.10am

So we can take the cars through? That makes things a bit easier. At the old Phoenix site we had to lug all our gear through the paintball site and then be locked in!

Cheers

yes can drive through , damm i keen but i not that keen lol , i had to run up it once in the snow and i nearly died lol

Trickley Coppice

London Road

Sutton Coldfield

West Midlands

B75 5SA

To access the Fireball Squadron site leave the Bassetts Pole roundabout as if to enter McDonalds.
To the left of McDonalds, you will see the entrance to the NPF (National Paintball Fields).
Drive down the track to the NPF reception and bear right, pass the NPF reception and drive through the paintball site. DRIVE SLOWLY!!!
Look for a fork in the road and turn left, continue to follow the track through some old vehicles until you exit the paintball site and arrive at the Fireball Car parking area.
The entrance to the site is over a covered footbridge to the left of the road

plenty of parking then you will see a small entrance like the photo below and that takes you into fireball :) , a lot of us tend to get to maccies early around 7.45 have some munchies then head down :) , just drive slowly through the npf bit as they get a bit testy sometimes :)-- attachment is not available --

Need to discuss with SHMBO

Well, she didn't say no (even if she didn't quite say yes) so put me down, German please.

If you are stuck for numbers, could do British instead.

Cheers
