Yes fella all ok for US troops
Right, I now have some other kit that has arrived, I'm now in the position of having a significant choice for this game. Like Kroot, I'll decide if I'm FFI (Free Forces of the Interior aka the resistance) or FFL (Free Forces of the Liberation , aka Free French Regulars) based on weather. What ever it will be, it will be French (though closer to the game, if you need more resistance than regulars, do say so and we will plan accordingly).
To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"
Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.
Resistance is fertile
FFI, FFL. FFS it's all a wee bit more complicated than we intended. If you look like a German, you're a German. If you're American, Brit any loadout or generally a decent looking chap then you're Allied and if in civilian clothing you're a Frog. It's a three team game whereby it's easy to spot the enemy as they are not wearing the same loadout as you! None of the teams are allowed to form alliances (unless instructed) The Battle is for the supplies. Axis need them and dont want the Allies to have them, French are starving and need to resupply the forces and Allies need them to continue the war. That is the basis of the game
Bugger no parpooper kit ..will have to sit this one out .till the next straight leg game ..oh well
I'm encouraging some newbies in look alike kit, so all are welcome fella
well have full 2nd ranger kit every thing 100% real apart from the shirt .trousers .jacket ..boots LOL ..so thats ok will have to borrow my mates gun ..or what guns are ok to use ? i know the AK looks like the mp44 so could use one of those as a dead huns weapon i nicked as my garand broke ..LOL
That's the spirit, wrap a bit of scrim around it if you like but no one is going to have a go at you for using a look alike weapon. This game is so that people can get into the feel of WW2 airsoft and not worry about having the kit right. Ammo limits of 300 rounds per life and getting into the spirit of the game is more the order of the day

Hey, no need to bring the FFS in to this, no one likes the Free French Security service.
I'd rather aim high and miss the mark by a bit than fail completely for not even trying. I do understand that not everyone can.
But yes, it is about fun. I'm overjoyed to see someone turn up in what I call "fuzzy-ersatz" stuff that captures the spirit of a look and I will applaud the creativity. Example the Vietnam game in November, a team in black boiler suits and painted lampshades for a rice hat = yes, top effort (wish I thought of it), yer regular street Green hoody and not much else = nah. To be honest, most of my stuff will fall under my own definition of "fuzzy ersatz"
Treat my post your commenting on as over exuberance on my part (and fishing for an opportunity to show of a bits of new kit but not sure which bits yet).

If you're fourteen to sixteen I'd like you to be accompanied by a responsible adult, If you're sixteen to eighteen, I'll check but we may need an indemity signed by your parents. The new child protection act comes into effect in January which may do a lot of harm to youngsters trying to get into the game. I will check with the site owner and post his reply as soon as I know for sure!
Hi there I wrote to Tom Andrews at Elite Action Games and asked this question about age see below for response:-
We state 13 years old minimum as a guide when accompanied by a parent or guardian. However we have had younger, it depends on the parent (who probably has a good idea what their offspring can handle)
If you are happy to have them play then it is fine with us. However we must insist on full face protection for under 18s.
We supply free of charge loan face masks or players can use their own goggles with a thick scarf for lower face/mouth protection.

I wonder if you can clarify the situation as my Youngest (12 going on 20) is kitted out (The New captured Thompson just waiting to gun down French and allied troops) He plays regularly at Ground Zero in the New Forest and has a better idea than most on the German army in WW2. He certainly will give as good as he gets and as being part of a regular airsoft team at ground zero he is very tactically aware. Please let the thread know with the official line for this game as we are hoping all to come
Cheers
You have the official answer there from Tom fella. It is hard to define the age limit, some 12 year olds like your son, are obviously skirmishers, especially if he's been a reg at GZ for a while, (love that site ) then that's fine, yet we've had other twelve year olds turn up, that I insist stick to their guardians like glue, purely coz I wouldn't want them left in the middle of a firefight. This is usually for open days though and not private WW2 games. This is the first time I've run a period game with youngsters attending in such numbers. There may be a disclaimer to sign, I'll check with Tom but as he says, if you the parent are happy with him joining in then that's fine with me.
Hope this helps
Jimbo
what are your views on me (14) wearing goggles with a gumshield?
i have loads of facemasks so its no problem if the answer is a no.
Now a 'namsofter. I have an M72 L.A.W. for sale for 110 posted, PM if interested.
Best stick to full face please fella, as this is the first game I've got youngsters on it's better to be safe than sorry. I know it detracts from the look which is a PITA, but hopefully the fun will make up for it. I will have a regular airsofter there, non playing but with a digital SLR camera, who will put all the pics up on photobucket for free
Cheers Vorwarts marsch!!!!
Getting Kit ready now
ok mate, cheers for the info.
i will speak to 4 jerries that go to my local site on the 9th jan. i can immagine they'd love to come, especially as its cheaper than our walk on fee that we pay every saturday
cheers, Tom.

Do I have to give them a kick up the a** to be a certainty. If so i will have to get onto them ASAP
Are you going to start collecting money for places to be certain?
Cheers
I see no need to limit it to 10 per side although I'd like to keep the sides even just so that there is fair gameplay. I dont want to collect monies in advance, on the day will do. I understand people have to drop out of games for all sorts of reasons, I'm more interested in getting numbers for catering purposes. We've got a few weeks untill the game but if people want to put their names up on the list, sometimes it helps other players decide to come along. Oh if so and so is going then I'll go, type of thing. Also players wanting to test out new kit in game without worrying too much about being in the correct look for a game. If any locals going as ruskies to the loop want to try out new kit, find out what sits best etc, you're welcome too. I know there were no russians in brittany, but what the hell, he's an airsofter wanting to get kit dirty, he's welcome
I'm sure the forces of France would welcome or Russian comrades
