Squads, Re-spawns and style of play

You will be operating as a series of small units during the day, most accurately referred to as ‘teams’. You are expected to remain in these units and follow the direction of it’s commanding NCO who will be determined on the day.

If you are a ‘dead man walking’, please remove your helmet to signify this, and if you see a man walking without a helmet then please be aware that you shouldn’t shoot them.
The flip side of this is – if you are alive you must have a hat on, otherwise you are cheating.

If you are killed, and have served your time lying in the rain as a corpse, then you should return to the HQ. Once there you will have a chance to re-load and prepare whilst being given some duties until it is time for you to go back to the front lines.

If an entire team returns to the HQ, it can be turned around and re-committed to the front lines faster. NCOs will have a talk about this on the morning about when and how they should pull their remaining men back – but beware, if you are the man responsible for creating a massive hole in the lines do not expect a smiley happy face from the CO.

A Note on Returning to the HQ

When returning to your HQ please do so in a manner fitting to a massive war. You will be passing by, and maybe through, soldiers of both sides so try to make it look like you are a wounded/broken soldier retreating – rather then an accountant chatting to his mates whilst bimbling through a wood.

Hits and Medics rules

If at any point a player is hit they are to go 'arghhh' and fall to the ground. Once there they should call for a medic. If a bandage is applied to them, then they may carry on fighting. If hit again, then they are dead, should fall down and once the fire fight has moved on should head back to their HQ to be 're-spawned' at their commanding officer's convenience.

If you are getting shot, or are in the way, then use your common sense to get out of the way. Commanders will be feeding troops back in according to their schedule, not yours, so the quicker you return to HQ is not proportionate to the speed you will get back into the battle.

More on Bandages

If at any subsequent point the bandage falls off a player, then the wound has 're-opened' and the player must revert to his wounded status until it is re-applied by another player. They cannot be replaced by the wounded player. Bandages should be applied properly, taking time to get them on right.

Oh, and if you have a bandage, or a strip of cloth, please do bring it along to save my bedsheets.

AMMO!

You will have 200 rounds, unless you are a support gunner. This is not a lot, and it is not a lot on purpose.
There is a supply of ammo that can be requested from HQ, but this supply is finite and each side will have a variable supply depending on whether they are on the Offensive or Defensive.

If you find yourself out of ammo you can send a runner back to get some more, however you may be refused, so keeping 20 rounds back in your gun for emergencies would be a sound idea. If you have emptied 200 rounds at a bush in the first 5 minutes, you may very well find yourself having nothing but a scary face to hold off the enemy for 45 minutes.

All ammo re-supply boxes contain 200 rounds, and will look like this ;-- attachment is not available --

Any advice on how best to please my helmet? Perhaps I should ask one of my fellow squad members to rub it better....

:giggle:

I was almost tempted not to correct that mistake, for I like it so much.
