Hey guys

Most of you probably already know this but PBI will once again be attending Crich 1940s weekend in force.

Without meaning to sound to self important we've built up a great relationship as PBI both with this show and with the re-enactment community as a whole who I feel respect us as a very commendable and competent group.

So much so that one of the premier groups in the UK, 'Summer of 44' have invited us to do a joint display at Aprils event.

Between us we hope to do a full section and HQ element of a rifle platoon of the Hallamshire Battalion (and maybe a full platoon of we get the bodies in!)

We really do need you to get on board with this one if you can what you will need to take part is:

BD either unbadged or badged up as the Hallams (gs cap required but we can probably loan infantry helmets)
Your usual webbing
A free weekend on the 4th and 5th of April
A willingness to join in the groups activities (simulating training for the d-day invasion)
A desire to be seen in public with two great groups!

sorry, I can't make this one as I may be at the Air Cadet Easter camp teaching them battlefield training, plus I still only have an MP40/K98/M1a1 but hope to have a No:4 by the end of the year, good luck though and can't wait to see the pics

We can see about that at Stoneleigh. I recommend perusing the Warhorse stand. They tend to have a few for sale there... It's where I got mine from!

As for Hallams insignia, we can look at that as well.

BTW, anyone need any help making up decent Hallams insignia please to ask. We have some really good printed polar bears in stock cheap, can direct you to some good shoulder titles and I have the ability to make up the serge panels on request. All machine made as the originals were.

Where abouts did you manage to find serge from to make the panels? I have tryed my local tailors and they look at me like I have sworn at them.

Yup a size SEVEN BD blouse that i had no qualms about cutting up as it was far too small for any modern adult to wear.

No go for me I'm afraid. Sorry guys. I'm more than gutted.

Edit: I PMed dieselmonkey on the PBI forums for a shot at getting some Hallamshire printed polar bears and got no response. I just assumed they were all gone.

How long is your hair? Mines too long to hide under a cap or helmet.
So have you tried tying it into a tight pony tail and run it down the back of your shirt and BD? Disguise the short length running down the extreme of your neck with a Brit scarf tied 'round your neck, as commonly seen done, but over the top of the pony-tail.
Works a treat for me.

I'll quite happily do that for private airsoft events, but don't feel comfortable doing it at public events. It only takes one MOP to get arsey about it, or make a snide comment, and i'm afraid all professionalism will go out of the window.
