Right chaps.

Most of you probably know that as a result of a spinal injury sustained as one of auntie lizzies hired guns and the subsequent failed spinal surgery and general NHS ineptitude I've been largely crippled over the last few years and only really able to relax when hammered as it just bloody hurts too much the rest of the time. This has meant that while the mind has been willing the body has been weak and i've had to either fail to attend events or drop out after the first day as i simply was in too much discomfort.

The good news is i've eventually been referred to a decent spinal specialist who not only understands the issue but has had the same injury and surgery himself as i had three years ago.

To that end he'd actually got me referred for a further MRI and is quite happy to have me prescribed morphine.

I've only been on it for a day so far but now feel completely normal and healthy and am having little to no pain, which is rather awesome.

Now until I have my second MRI to confirm the discs havnt prolapsed again i'm going to be taking it light on the kit front for a while but the decet pain releif means i will be able to attend events (there was a real danger of me having to bin airsoft and re-enacting but i didnt want to have to concern anyone or worry folk).

So....

I'll be about doing stuff but I may be having to farb out with webbing packed with cloth padding rather than 'period' kit.

Nige has also suggested i stick to more senior nco/ officer roles as well which while I've generally got no interest in being an officer and far prefer to portray EMs it might be the way forwards for a short while.

Good news about the sympathetic medic, Gadge, sound like he knows what he's doing. Ah, the power of the poppy!
