You may be wondering 'why are we doing a game with no brits in?'

Good question.

The answer is two fold, one is to try and steer away from any feeling that we in PBI might rig games to get a brit win or that we have some sort of thing against US players!

The more important reason though, however, is that we want the US players to have a go at a 'combat mission' type game that worked so well at Varsity, as it is most other WWII airsoft games dont tightly theme the battle and work on a all day regen system.

If we stuck to only doing games for Brits then a big proportion of the player base wont get to try the other way of gaming.. and we might even get some more PBI recruits.

I do realise that this means some of you might not be able to play in this game but I will put in some 'character' roles for those that really want to. I am pretty sure however that most of PBI have a second impression!

So guys hope you understand why were doing this... besides it also gives you a whole seven months to get a second impression should you wish to!

Unless I sell it and join the German team, it looks like airborne only and i have infantry, I have a Heer fieldgrau HBT kit which it says is ok as long as theres no splinta camo, and this games not too far away from me so I could probably get there if I can arange another family weekend holiday  .

No, you're fine with infantry kit.

What a lot of folk dont realise is that US glider airborne troops wore line infantry uniforms.

Its was a major bone of contention with US gliderriders.

That and, I imagine, the pay.

My memory tells me their glider troops were not paid any more then infantry.

No they were paid less like UK airborne.

Weird as glider delivery is actually far riskier.

(up to 30 per cent casualties on landing on average)

Would I need to rebadge my jacket for this, it's currently badged as 1st Infantry who did take part in the battle for St. Lo?

Well we want every one to be elements of the 82nd so be great if you can either remove the badge or cover it up with an 82nd badge, its like months away so not a pressing job

Yeah the idea is to have the game represent small actions within the St. Lo battle. Hence having a mix of units is not appropriate.

We managed this with Varsity and I see no reason why it should be different at St. Lo.

I'll bring a seam ripper with me to remove any inappropriate unit insignia from people's kit before we start.

You have been warned!
