:slap:  Don't make me look up Perseus as well! (Meh I did - Perseus, the Bellerophon Middle Ages usurper. I hated Greek stuff at school! Clearly!)

Still, I've learned something. I always thought the patch depicted Pegasus. What with Pegasus Bridge and errm Pegasus Militaria and all. I'd never even taken any notice of the cherub a-top the horse!

You see that collared shirts were available as a private purchase so i cant see why not collarless ones

Wow, I've an original priv' purch' one of them. So it's be okay to wear under BD, though not an officer?

The patch depicts Bellerophon riding Pegasus.

Bellerophon tamed and rode Pegasus and killed the Chimera to win some princess whose name I can't remember.

Perseus also tamed and rode Pegasus and killed Medusa to win Andromeda.

Some versions have Pegasus being born out of the blood issuing from Medusa's neck, so who came first I don't know.

There is a lot of crossover in greek mythology, to the point that Bellerophon and Perseus' stories are almost indistinguishable apart from the different names. It's all very confusing.

I think it was a case of you can wear them til you get caught. I've a book on the 49th div from Normandy to Holland and the majority of the ORs have collared shirts.

I think pre 44 its a bit iffy but beyond overlord fine.

Cool, I'll wear it with descretion. Cheers Gadge.
