Just as an aside, I was reading some of the chop shop stuff ......how difficult it is to rewire a gun & replace the "loom" , (loom being pretty much the two wires to the battery then), and the joys of how everything can be solved with some silicone oil , and how hard it was ot fit this metal bodied kit ..etcetc
......& I know I shouldn't scoff , but as a trained engineer who has built chopped motorcycles, cars and Landrovers from the ground up I have to have a little chortle about the "over egging" of simple toys like airsoft guns . Try rebuilding Suzuki GS1000 gearboxes, yer version 1 AEG has nothing on them , and if you get it wrong your talking days to strip it all down again ..and if you get it really wrong it might kill you -literally !
Anyway I've had me smug laugh now , I'll get the head in the fridge ot shrink it back down again ...kids eh !
Just remember most people can't wire up a plug these days...
(I don't like working on stuff that can kill me... hence why I went into Electronics and Computers rather than Electrical stuff.)
Anyone know what the relevance of the Welsh flag behind the UK of ASCUK is on the forum banner?

They like leeks and sheep?
They're annoying, self-righteous twats?
Wait, I'm half-Welsh.....

No its a dedication to the co-owner of Dragon Valley who died last week.
Rather nice gesture i thought

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Ah... I could've sworn it'd been there for ages... ah well...
As you say Gadge... good on 'em
Oops!
Which guy was it!? I played along side those guys a few times.
The only one I can remember is the rather overweight long haired fella.

Brian
Never played there myself so i odnt know him or of him

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Nah, didn't know him.

Nah, didn't know him.
Why is it never the people you want to die?

Cripes Kermit, you got a lot of grief from Fluffy yesterday. I have no idea how you kept your composure!

Quite simple really.
1: I know a helluva lot more about the situation than he does - think he's playing the screaming child now? wait till he finds out what UKARA are really up to....
2: I know that i've hit a sore point, and it's really annoyed him (and i havent even had to resort to bad language - yet
)

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Linkage?

I for one would be severally concerned is fuckwits like Fluffy and Beaker et all had access ot my home address, name DOB etc . Their idea of corporate governance is off the scale . It's bad enough having ot register with sites, but with a forum run by cocknoses...
BTW good for keeping your composure Kermit, can you not write a lot of nice features about how crappily run their forum is ? ![]()
The story I heard about chopping the forum because they would not have access/ be asked to run the database seems to ring a bit more true .
Feck me, I wish the forum had been binned as promised so that twat didn't have a mouthpiece.
I'm so beyond caring about the VCRA, but suppose if I want to buy anything in the Autumn I'd better read something about it....unless someone can post in two paragraphs what I'll need to do in order to buy stuff.
*hint*

That's the point no one knows for sure at the mo . A membership card linked ot a site to show you are a player , tied into a database run by who ? And no one knows if second hand sales will be included or just new ones.
Then I'll just carry on regardless until someone tells me not to.
To be honest, I bought my M1A1 years ago and haven't spent a penny on it since. It's bound to go wobbly at some point, then I'll get it fixed. Not sure whether that will require registration.
The only thing I've got to buy at some point soon is a new slide for my WA .45, since the last one broke.

I'll bite.
Come October (or whenever the gov decide to switch the legislation already in place on) it will be illegal to sell RIF's. But, it will be possible to sell to airsofters as they will have a legal reason to buy. What constitutes an airsofter the gov still haven't said. Best guess at the moment is that they will have to had played three times at a legit airsoft site in the past year.
Hence sites organising membership & attendance records. Not sure why retailers are organising a database 'cos they won't be able to determine who a legit airsofter is (unless gov rules not as expected).
