Hi Dave and Guy, Just wondered if we were going to get a bit more support from the CIA chaps for D-Day. Being so busy I’ve only just noticed very little on the old build up for this one and very few CIA bookings? If you guys have lost interest in the event that’s cool but I do need to know one way or tuther as I’ve budgeted £325 worth of free places (assuming all 5 of you are coming) and we're barely covering that in CIA bookings so far. lol was it something I said?
Please confirm asap as were only three weeks away.

I'm not quite sure what you mean Josh. I'll be there, running the German side as you asked, I know Guy is too.
We made available 500 of our forum users for you to sell but we can't force them to come (it's hard enough to get them to our events!).
Perhaps it's the £85 that's putting them off? Confusion with all the other events you put on then took off? Geographical location? WW2 game overload and too much choice?I dunno, but I suspect it's more to do with marketing - it needs a bit more than 'come to an awesome weekend for £65'. Why would someone choose your event over someone else's? I suspect 30-a-side games are the most you can expect these days...

The most I've ever paid for an event was £75. And that was with a £35 deposit up front... not the whole thing.
Though the fact I have 4 events during the 4 weeks running up to that date doesn't help!
I do like to see my family occasionally!
Time is the issue for me, as well as the cost of actually getting there. I'm away with work for the week before the event getting back on Wednesday afternoon and heavily jet lagged.
Things are incredibly tight fiscally at the moment and the added cost of getting to south Wales and back make it prohibitive, Christ, there are times when I can't really afford to make it to our own game days! Add to this the fact that at the last D-Day the gaming was utterly shahooite and I'm not going to make it.
If there are 5 free spaces I'm happy for someone else to have my place if that's allowed.

The 5 places comes from CiA plus Gadge.
In subsequent PMs I've said that I didn't think this event was a joint Gunman/CiA event (as last time) but we will head up the Axis side - Guy, me plus Jay and Gadge (if they are still coming).
I'll also do a bit of publicity material for him and see if I can't bump his punter level a bit.
I'm more than happy to still help run axis for him and i'm happily be supportive of the previous d-day event and the coming one.
Tell you what I'll start up a rallying call for axis in the axis discussion.
Be wierd to do one on the PBI section as i wont be doing brits for this one.

I think he's a cheeky cock as those 5 places cost him £30 in total . Given the amount of bullshit I've had over my A2C event and Josh/other Gunman assholes , franklly could give a spunk monkey if the event goes or not .
Dave had it right , the cost is the killer / josh's reputation for being a nobber.
I await Guy's response on this!

I just think if he's running broadly commercial profit-making games then he should sort his own shit out.
I guess the free places thing is a little bit of leverage for this event, but the fact he uses this forum and effectively uses a player base that was created and is nurtured by CiA and PBI makes that enough IMHO.
I'm more concerned about filling the spaces for Bryansk and will worry about Josh once those spaces are filled.

Personally i can totally see where Josh is coming form these days after a few good chats but i think he sees a market that simply isnt there.
D-day pulled in a fair few cos it was a beach.
Charging more for what will effectively be a woodland skirmish is a bit of a no brainer.
But if he has to pay crew or make aliving out of it hes never going to be able to run events competitively priced to ours.
His offer to uberwaller to provide a training day for £45 a head is a classic example.
Considering a player ran training day costs between £15 and £20 its madness to ask players to stump up the cost of a weekender.

Still, some of 'our' punters are going to the event, so I am too (although I wouldn't have paid for it) - it won't look good to snub others in the 'market'.

I've been such a Div.
I've just realised I run my clubnight on the 19th April.
we changed in Feb from *second* Saturday of the month to *third* and my brain still hasnt got the old scheduling out of the way.
Basically Its the second month in a new venue and i *cant* not be there, if ts was a few months down the line I'd let Becky mange the lads for me but she doesnt really know about managing a club night and I cant trust my other two DJs to 'a' not fuck it up and 'b' expect them to do all the oragnisational work and still only get paid their usual performance fee.
So unless i can find a way of being back in Nottingham by 7pm saturday day and then a lift back to the d-day site sunday morning (where'll ill have had about 3 hours sleep after club end and break down)
I'm *really* annoyed about this after i was talking to Dave on sunday i was really up for it but for some reason didnt think its clashed with my clubnight.
If i wasnt so bloody skint these days I'd take a risk on the lads and pay them double but I just cant afford it and I'l look very bad with the venue not being at my own night.
Feel like a toal heel backing out at this point, sorry guys i really am.
On a plus side it means that i can be at bryasnk which when orgnaised *did* clash with my club (thats as long as its not a TFSS weekend I've promised Rich I'll go to)
