Just interested in thoughts about this, purely from a curious aspect.
They've said they're expecting 1000 players (although according to their website only 50 have signed up so far).
Having organised games with 350 players on a 200 acre site and tried to get this amount of people organised before the off and in-game I really can't see how they can do this. For a start how the hell do you brief this number of people effectively??
The FB international game that I worked on sold out in the first week of June too.
I just wonder what the hell the games are like and how well organised it all is.
Anyone been there?
It looks the complete antithesis of what I want to get from airsofting . I've done 400 sized events and they've generally been pants .
I've been to GZ a few times. Organisation was terrible. Game design was lamentable. To top it all off there was a: a huge amount of cheating b: sniper rifle toting idiots (and there are LOTS of them down there) that couldn't understand the minimum engagement rules c: A large number of idiots (including the bloke who runs the site!) who were shooting in the so-called safezone.
It's a damn shame, as it's a really interesting site to play, what with the tunnels cut through the rhodedendrons and the well sited bunkers and camps.

Well, that's what I'd heard.
Following some strange spat the chap who runs it with FB over a shower block at the weekender in Birmingham (go figure), the guy decided to run his own on the same weekend. He even went for a 3 team event after we'd announced it first.
I've always heard mixed things about them so wondered if you guys had any first-hand experience.
Wasn't there also some strangeness about the GZ people hijacking UKASGB domain names or something!?
Aaaanyway. 1000 airsofters, who I assume are of a much lower competence level than those who attend our events, sounds utterly horrible.
Well, that answered a few questions in my mind anyway!
I do have some admiration over the ambition of 1,000 players paying
The domain names thing was Dan, the son of Neil from Zero One Airsoft. He registered loads of variations on the names of well known HK, and some British, Airsoft retailers. e.g. http://www.wgcshop.co.uk - and redirected them to Zero One Airsofts website. Bit bloody cheeky if you ask me. He got caught out, and rapidly got shot of them.
I've met both Dan and Neil a few times. Neither strikes you as particularly bright, and the quality of the work they do on customers guns is appalling.

Quantity not quality , the difference between 40 people at an IED E&E weekend or 400 people at town Assualt.
Maybe something we'll have ot consider with Gunman ?
