No, it seems I can delete, move, split and lock threads and that's it. No sticking, no pruning of individual posts. Funny thing is, I seem to have privs in some sections but not in others.

Not sure if I'm missing something.

Yes you will have privileges in some areas and not others... thats the way its set up.

However Guy is right you have full privileges in the Allied forums. (both of them.)

The two forums I've previously moderated have all been done from a mod's menu at the bottom of the thread page rather than within posts.

I don't want God power, just to be able to sticky threads, which I can do. Now that's not omnipotent is it?

No, that's what the blue pills are for, as I am now told.

The software for this forum is lower spec than I've used elsewhere as well , but then it is cheap . The ASCUK engine seem to have more functionality .
It serves a purpose , or a porpoise .

Try again HS, permissions are correct - I just had Orky post in the thread and delete it himself...

Sorry which one are we talking about now?

I've sorted the Allied forum problem. I was being a mong and missing the sticky option. I assumed it would be in the mod options, but it's in the originating post editor, which is weird.

Having some strange issues with the newb forum though. Can't edit or delete my own posts in that.

Yes, in the Noob section. Orky could edit and delete his post OK. Wonder if the changed permission only works with new posts - could you do a quick random test post in that section and see if edit & delete is available? I'll delete it if you can't...

It's all there and working fine now.

I reckon it's because I signed out and back in again. Most likely Guy made the changes when I was signed in previously and I needed to sign out for the changes to register.

Man, what a palaver.
