Yeah, I know its a long time away, but I had an interesting chat with a mate of mine the other day whose ex mob, and we got chatting about WW2 Airsoft.
After a while he sat there and asked me if i knew about Imber Village out in Wiltshire - said it would be perfect for what we do. So i did some searching:

Now, here's the good bit. One of my contacts is Charlie, who runs games at two MoD sites already - namely Longmoor and down at Bramley, and I reckon, if asked, might be able to get us Imber for a weekend. It's not used anywhere near as much as CDV or Sennybridge, as the "Village" buildings are spread out over a much wider area, hence, not as useful for training in highly built up environments (Basrah *cough, cough*) - there is a larger area of purpose built stuff down the road, but its not anywhere near an interesting.
Question is, do I get him to make tentative contact with the them, as it would be awesome for a Normandy weekender.
Some overhead pics - see what i mean about Normandy?
Come to think of it, there's Tyneham Village on the Dorset coast as well. And that one comes with its own MoD-owned private beach.....

The site looks good Kermit but I would have thought it's out of our league. The MoD and it's agency are not a nice friendly airsoft site owner as you are well aware.
We can't take financial risk and we don't have insurance and I don't want a TA4 on our hands....
BUT, if our relationship with Gunman pans out then I think we have someone who will relieve of us of such burdens (unless your mate Chris will do the business?)
Imber would be interesting although as far as I know there is only one day a year when it is open to the public, namely ex residents . It sits in the middle of Imber Down range, itself never open to the GP , unlike Larkhill and some of the other ranges ( all from my 4x4 club stuff)
It is a real village, however I doubt we'd get anywhere near it , even if we got round the whole insurance thing etc ( for which I suspect we'd have ot become a PLC)
Don't want ot sound negative , it would be nice ot think we could host a game there. Ask the q's please but don't be upset if a "no" comes back.
Very impressive and it'd be great to play there...
But see the other guys comments...
C-W, hence, why i'm getting Charlie to ask. As i said he runs regular games at two MoD sites already. We'd use his insurance (and he owes me a few favours - big time. Can anyone say "blackmail?" )
I'll get him to ask a few questions, from the simple perspective of those who dont ask, never get!

Indeed, as I found out in my college days...
Go for it Jay , sounds absolutely ripe for an "Eagle has Landed" game
Pointless info of the day. Mapledurham, where I used to run one of the FireFight sites was used for filming "The Eagle Has Landed"

Or a Carentan game.
Definitely looks very Bocage-like.
