Jeez - nip to the dentist and it al kicks off !

For the afternoon of saturday all players will be wandering around lost . Allies are looking ot sneaky beaky their way thruogh our lines, Axis are looking ot capture them .It's classic escape and evade . As well as your unit comanders , you'll have the DRWs out looking for you,& the site is not that big .

By late afternoon barring some captured and re released , Allies should all be in one big group, free to re org as you like and then put on an attack at the 88mm . Ater that attack , you melt back into the woods for some tea and setting up your base, same as the Germans will. After tea, we put in a convoy , and you attack it , then we all go to bed.

Sunday morning you put in the big attack, then retreat to be exfilled and we chase you so we all end up back at the Carpark for end ex.

The game is quite heavily scripted for a reason . I don't want everyone doing their own thing , because it will become a pile of poo . It's a big site , people will get lost and in reality if i wanted the Germans ot attack your base or vice versa it wouldn't be much of a challenge. Winning or loosing isn't the nmae of the game , having some interesting scenarios, some good bangs and firefights with a good period feel is what its about .

In WWII reality what would have happend ? Germans would have sat around defending for 24 hours , and the paras would have avoided cotact at all costs until the brief dawn asault. I deliberatley chose not to do this as it would be very boring to 90% of the players , so we've a script ot work to , so that we can engineer some good firefights amongst a weekends campng

Finally bear in mind that lathough I'm the German CO , I will be also trying ot act as the game coordinator . If that means I have to drive aound looking for you to arrange stuff I will .

Alles Klar ?

Foregive me for being a bit dumb (though that may be down to the lunchtime pint. Or three). I thought the Jerries were setting up their camp at the start of the game?

The big thing you can never replicate in airsoft commando raids is suprise.

25 airsofters 'waiting for it t happen over the next 12 hours' wil be much more alert and motivated than '19 year old conscript 300 miles from home whose been walking round the same silo for the last two years and his mates are inside playing cards'....

It why its so hard to do decent 'special forces' raids unles syo script them to make sure everybody isnt alert at the same time.

Even with 48 hour mil sim events there i s *big* difference between being alert for a weekend on exercise and doing it for real.

I know wheni've stood guard on various mod sites in the uk i've bene bored shitles and my mind has not always been intently observing every shadow for a potential IRA infiltrator... it has however been on getting off duty and getting a cup of tea...

Yup... all understood... and as long as the commanders remember to play to make the game fun and not always to win we'll be fine.

The key is probably not to have all the germans sat around the 88 when we decide to attack it... heh... if so, we'll just have to go after the V1 instead! lol ;)

Well we need to be cunning, perhpas i can take my squad on a 'sweeping patrol' to the other side before the attack goes in, menaing they will have to double time it to get there and gives th allies a period of numericla superiority

We'll need to brief the NCOs about the scripting to a certain degree so that we can rendezvous appropriately.

I assume radios will be useless across the site. Are mobile phones an option for inter-organiser comms? Otherwise how are we going to do that?

I wouldn't call it scripting as such . Telling them ot be at such at such a point by so and so hours is ok .
Radios may works sometimes, mobiles forget it .

We never stopped before?

What i mean by that is it seems abit stupid not to put useful info on like 'sandbags are 50p' in anchor when all our players know the organisers are mods and therefore read all the forums sections....

Just be insulting their intelligence to pretend other wise

(that and you've been posting in their yourself so i didn't realise it would be an issue)

You seem ot be in there more than most, ie seem to post more in the allied than the axis PA  . I try to avoid the temptation unless considering it absolutely neccesary . Read it by all means .
I appreciate it's a bit of a nonsense, but since we've re jigged it for booked in players might as well try to keep it secure . Just a thought , I'm not laying down the law

Personally i really want to foster the idea that organisers are pretty much impartial rather than side specific, other wise nobodies going to trust organisers on a different side to that which they normally play.

I still intend to be very active on the allied side in future games so want new members to know they can ask questions about allied kit (i get the odd pm every now and then)

I see you point but i dont know if its healthy to be known as an allied or axis only orgnaiser, i think its better if players think we focus on creating games and just have to choose sides on the day but equally have to know whats going on to a degree.

I'd be happy to play one side for a morning and switch at lunch but as it is everyone would think it was some cunning trick :)

No i just totlaly see you r point but im not sure what the best option is. I'm really against 'side specific' organising but if we in general thinkits better to stick to the fora for the side were doing on the day i'm happy to follow suite.

I've tried ot keep out of the oppositions private bits, and would get a bit cheesed if the allied kept posting in the Axis, however there's merit to both sides. I'll let Yith and Steve decide if they want ot kick you out
