Just had paul on the phone to me

hes livid over the carentan game, worst day of airsoft ever he says.

40 players, allies outnumber axis 2 - 1

only 1 and half hours gaming actually done on first day before last light

2 hours spent on lunch

Night game has no relation to rest of event.

Hes gone home early

Can't help but say told you so.

Josh was saying how the event was sold out at the beginning of the week. Obvious lies. Hopefully it'll push a wedge of new players in our direction. I'm hoping it won't make people move away from the WW2 arena altogether.

I had the same phone call as well. Also had a call from someone else I know who was playing there. Lot's of unhappy punters......

I've said this in the CiA bit, but worth asking here too.

I've been concerned at the possibility of Josh deleting posts that he's deemed negative recently, thus editing people's opinions.

Is it worth removing his permission to do so, or should we wait until he actually does it first? If indeed he does at all....

I'm concerned too that Josh is selling himself as 'the wwii experience' and given high profile ads in AI (something neither CiA or PBI feel the need to do or could justify the expense of...) i'm worried that folk who are new will sign up for this, get ripped off, have a shite time and think we do the same things...

As i said to Jay on the phone the other day we (as in all player led non profit game runners) do it for fun and our only financial concern in not to *lose* money - sod making money.

Josh on the other hand clearly is a business man and theres nothing wrong in that per se but yo do have to at least give people the illusion of vlaue for money even if its not really.

I feel he's currently doing us all a bit of a disservice by ripping off players and putting on poor games that really rely on novelty locations to get buy in.

I think it would be the right thing to do to make it that player comments cant be edited by anyone other than a mod, if he feels someone is slating him he can ask a mod to remove a post.

Same as in any other thread, if i was a players and i felt another players post put me in a bad light i'd either expect a mod to spot it or ask for it to be removed.

Couldn't agree more Gadge. As long as the criticism is justified it should stay.

Not sure I agree there. The first time I ever played Airsoft (in the dim and distant past) was pretty crap. Did it put me off the whole thing? Nope. I went and visited other sites (and back then, we're talking less than 10 sites in the whole country!) till I found one I *really* enjoyed playing at.

If anything, this whole episode will really bring to light how shite Josh's gigs actually are (well, hopefully!)

Have a look at whose posting on the thread. Vast majority of them (and i'd bet on it) haven't done an Urban site before. I can still remember the "wow" factor of the first event i did at Longmoor - it was only a week later that I finally worked out that it was the site that impressed me, and that the game design was actually sub-standard (still, thats Ambush Airsoft for ya!)

Hmmm, by all accounts it seems the rumours of a crap weekend have been greatly exaggerated. Also numbers have been put at 120 by an independent player.

Well I'm not so sure about the numbers... it doesn't look like 120 in the video of the briefings...

Have to agree with yith , looks more like 50 - 60 tops there.

Josh claimed the allies side had sold out at 50 places, pauls reckons there were half that many axis.

Even if pauls wrong if he sold out at 50 allies, he must have had max 100.

And i agree with Kermit... its a fibua village, awesome to play on but the novelty soon wears off.

I think I was ceasing to be awestruck by senny after my second day there :)

Struggling to hold my tongue here!

"Sgt.Heide wrote:
Definitely up for "Caen" but not the other one. £85 to play at Redditch is just too painful."

"Gunman wrote:
Sorry a few guys think the £85 is too much, Gunman prides itself on quality and value for money and we put a huge amount back into all our events in Pyro, props, senario and warm welcome.

I think £85 is a bargin, most modern events are £85 and all I hear from players that have gone to these events is where has our money been spent. At Gunman you can see where your money goes as we are dedicated to your weekends fun.

I hope this gives you the reasurance to still come matey, we have an awesome senario for the 'Road to Caen' weekend, the site is some 600acres with long roads all over it perfect for a columb of trucks to travel along.
Two days of 2ww action with consequences for both sides at Caen if their objectives aren't met."

I cant believve all this 'gunman is great value balls! Have they *been* to a CiA event! FFS

Post away my friend! I'm not going to, I already have enough beef with Josh and it won't serve any good purpose.

The punters make up their minds. We've already got almost 60 players for our December game.

£85 for Redditch is taking the piss. It's a very basic woodland paintball site with mud tracks that are JUST able to accommodate vehicles, and nothing less than a 4x4. His games are badly organised and he takes a wedge from them. I suspect he and Manning have big dollar signs in their eyes.

CiA, as you know, are non-profit. At our next game all members are getting about £10 worth of pyro for free (3 x ball grenades) and our pyro budget is around £350.

BTW, don't tell anyone about the free pyro, it's a surprise! ;)

I'm not even going to bother getting into a spat with josh.

Just not worth it, i just wish we could get some of the gunman diehards to a few cia / pbi games.

Might be an eye opener...

And yeah sure i'll say nowt about pyro.
