The tone of the bloke is getting on my tits a bit as well . Suggest send ot Coventry - ie no response ot his bollox posting, it's noty as agressive as modding and he might get the message, mind you he is in Barnsley

Kermit explained to me he was instrumental in ais re-enactment in the ealry days and i respect that but i think hes bringing an attitude to this forumn that we dont need

His intention is OK but he does come across as arrogant and patronising.

To be fair he did mediate and put reasoned arguments across in the wwii forum thread putting a positive spin on what we do....

He did... I've come to the conclusion his intentions are good, but his methods are well... a bit egotistic...

He has a very good rep for getting things done in the re-enactment community...

Hopefully my post will help a bit... :)

I have Pauls home and mobile number, if this comes up again then please back away and I'll handle it with a phone call , forums are easy to get things wrong on very quickly.

I think the fact he's given mods cause to lock threads twice already (btw IMO unlocking a thread locked by another mod does not send out a good message of forum cohesiveness) and caused this much unrest is not good.

Whether you mind that he's annoyed Yith and I is by the by, the fact he's annoyed sgt heide and dieselmonkey (and i bet stubblhopper when he sees it) i more important, we wouldnt let any other individual ride roughshod over the forum and we shoudlnt make massive allowances for him becasue he has 'influence'.

Consitency is the key.

If anything you should give him a phone call and pre-empt anymore of this bollocks.

You locked that thread because you made a wrong assumption Gadge, and i'll not be at apologetic about opening it again....

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

No wrong assumption Jay he quite blatantly reffered to making explosives.

"Oh flang and bashes I can do..... in copious amounts and ever increasing smasherosity!!!!

But it seems some sites don't allow them for fire and safety reasons..

In some quarters they are not keen on you hoying bangs into rooms..... As you say - the TBGs are a bit tasty...... some don't like them - It's not everyone's taste. What about sites with noise restrictions?

I just have an idea that some doody toys might liven things up a wee bit.....

Besides not everyone knows how to set a pot flare up do they? Twisted Evil

What would you like to see then?"

Thats quite blatantly talking abut pyro that is not the sites and making it yourself, against our rules mate.

"Oh flang and bashes I can do..... in copious amounts and ever increasing smasherosity!!!!

And at which point does he say he makes them?

"eryone knows how to set a pot flare up do they?"

"Set up", not "manufacture"

"But it seems some sites don't allow them for fire and safety reasons"

Ground Zero dont allow deflagrating pyrotechnics at their site, for H&S reasons, Sopley dont allow smoke inside buildings for H&S reasons. Electrowerx dont allow pyro - AT ALL.

The only way I can compare it is that I can drive at 100 MPH, but that doesn't mean i made the bloody car does it? lol

Oh and when he talks about "sites", its pretty obvious that he's talking about sites used for re-enactment.

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

You're arguing semantics Jay, its quite clear hes saying he can make pyro.

and once again locking and unlocking makes us look like total tits, there is nothing to be gained from keeping that thread open IMO and both Steve and Dave made the right call.

Lets be brutally honest if anyother forum memeber or mod conducted themselves in sucha manner they'd be takne to one side quickly.

I was asked to step down by Guy for far less antagonistic posting if you recall.

As on monday morning I will cease to care to honest but right now he's not helping the spirit of this forum one bit and I think rather than defending an uppleasant set of posts we'd be better of haivng that phone call with him.

The pair of you are just arguing for no reason imho .

PPD is /is is not a problem, not every problem needs a solution today . I've argued this before and been ignored and am getting bored with trying to get some maturity into the debate. I thought with you all being mil buffs you'd recognise that hasty decisions are generally wrong .

PD has thrown some poo, you've all responded..leave it at that . Arguing the whys and wherefores here is silly gents.

Hot headeness on the forum was the key reason to the decisions we reached in August , lets not have a repeat on the eve of our 4th event .

Sorry, what when? What did I do?

TBH, PD's latest set of posts aren't that inflammatory, it's his style that's the problem.

Yes he's a dick, but either he'll get bored of baiting soon then, or our regulars will tell him to get stuffed and he'll quieten down.

Anyway, looking forward to tomorrow.

Cheers

S

Incidentally I'd be wary about slagging of Andy Ansell in the axis private discussion in case we do have anybody feeding stuff back, he seems quite irate about reenactors being 'slagged off' on wwii re-enacting.

Good point, but not too sure I give a hoot about him! ;)

For the sake of future members joining up and seeing it though, I'll remove.

Put it this way *everything* we say hewre is being used for or against us there, squabbling isnt going to make us look good.

I've been accused of threatening PD and not allowing him his freedom to an opinion.

:)
