Pre Xams sounds good to me , lowish numbers and no crap weather - say early December?

Personally don't care too much about SYA's event, given Seans noninvolvment of us. It looks ot be a skirmish in silly kit IMHO .

Joshes event is still open , so as far as I'm concerned we have CR and that's it at the mo .

An event in August would be good just from the weather POV, I like the idea of another woodland, and then perhaps this in late Nov early Dec would round the year off for me as far as "our" events go. If other events come up then good, but would personally like ot see another two CiA events this year , if for no other reason than that I enjoy them !

Thing is with Sean's event - regardless of whether it's a skirmish in silly kit or not, it has the potential to make less players available for our event, given the small numbers 'in the pool'.

August is fraught with holidays (perhaps we ought to put our personal breaks onto the calendar?).

I am thinking seriously about going to Warren's September do.

October & December are clear - given the magnitude of the November game it has the potential to seriously limit numbers of punters available for the month both before and afterwards.

The question in my mind is whether there will be a SYA WW2 event at all - we could plan an event for the same date a) because it might not happen as far as we can see at the moment and b) we are more likely to get the punters in.

No doubt Yith has had speaks today with SP plus got a feel for the site, a it's worst in the rain!

This sounds awesome! Lets get it sorted!

We have our foot in the door with this one so perhaps make it our next game? Seems sensible to me! I reckon September/October is a good time for this?

It also gives us time for us more northern types to get a trip down there beforehand organised. It would be a shame for Kermit to end up with ALL the organising on his head and I think it would be hard for us to give much help with just a map and photos to go on! ;)

(cut and moved because Ididn't realise this was the UCAP only thread when I posted.)

One thing to remember is that this next CiA game is down south... hence there will be less issues with the northern players being pulled one way or the other... as long as we don't have the games within a fortnight of each other we should be okay I think.

Oh, i've already got our roles sorted for the day. ;)

Richard - why spoil the track record? - you'll be spending the day getting captured.
Gadge - Ponce around, officer like, constantly adjusting beret angle
Moneyshot - Scare the shit out of the opposition by using things unheard of to them - like "aggresion" and "speed"
CW - Will be autographing photos of himself, and adding more bling to the tunic.
Me - Falling over repeatedly, and ending up in A&E being X-rayed the following day
OS - Smoking too much, shouting at players to motivate them.

I was rather hoping that Kermit would look at the calendar thread, check what was possible and then check with the site and come back with a list of dates for us to choose from... :)

Having checked UCAP's game diary, the following sundays are available:

Sept 9th and 23rd
October 7th

Late August aint doable, as they have their weekend "Tora Bora" event - not to mention that a fair few of the southern lot are going to go to the Ground Zero Weekender (an event that does NOT appeal to me!) over the August BH weekend.

Tell me which date you guys favour.

Checking the calendar, Sept 9th is out. As thats the Victory Show weekend.

I also am supposed to be going on holiday with the family in September, but Rachel has not yet finalized the date.

I've just rung home and left a message on the answer phone asking her to get this sorted.

So 23rd Sept or 7th Oct maybe...

Okay... checked with Rachel and both Oct 7th and Sept 23rd are okay for me.

The holiday was actually on the weekend on the run up to the Victory show... I put my foot down and we're going to be coming home a day early...

Of course now I do have issues because the lightfighter weekend is at the start of the holiday... argh!.

I'm not sure, so go ahead. University starts somewhere around then and will be helping move in - won't know the dates until after exams and acceptance blah, blah.

CW... as long as we can get some of your excellent signage then if you're okay then I think we should go for it. Though you will be missed! ;(

What about the other two dates guys... what numbers can we get for those?

Assuming the date is sorted ...

Next we need to work out the scenario... and title so we can advertise it.

2 ideas me and Kermit had:

- Attack on a bunker in the Siegfried line.
- Attack on a comms bunker in Holland (or other). (perhaps even the bunker from the Battle of the Bulge film??)

Another idea would be to perhaps have the Germans raiding a British outpost looking for the D-Day plans...
