Had another thought , the Allies were involved in looking for the german atomic project towards the end of the war , some heavy water/ plutonium perhaps ?

Er... that was the idea! ;)

I have no problem with 40 players as long as the economics work.

BTW, our one Russian has now packed up!

Okay... Norway was occupied right up to May 8 1945. So Norway looks like the location for this bunker.

BTW... I like "Projekt Wotan" for the title so far.

Simple, but with interesting implications.

oops

*will read threads in full before posting in future*

I like the idea of keeping it to 40 players .

One its easier ,
Two it has an exclusive feel to it, We can say we're deliberatly keepingit small to keep it special. The old hands on here will book first and hopefully feel they've been rewarded for their loyalty . I know were about inclusivity but building brand loyalty is good too.

NB I would like ot take a bit of a back seat on this one and the August game if there is one , having expended a lot of effort on Churchills . If we do go ahead with Gunman I'll get more involved with that or a Winter game . Thats not to say I'm doing nothing, but would be nice not to have a long list of things ot do .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_ ... r_sabotage

Gives three operation names:

Operations Freshman, Grouse and Gunnerside

The latter is probably the best

Excited about this already.

Do we know anybody who'd volunteer to be wounded scientists or research staff who need capturing?

Yeah although something a little more cinematic might be better to get player attention?

Operation Thunderbolt etc...

Maybe the guy that runs it can think of someone... thats an ideal job for marshalls.

Also means the marshalls will be in reasonable clothing...

White Lab coats :)

Those three operations are a bit specific - and British/Norweigian.

Yup fine... just thought I'd point out that link.

There are some things we can use there for ideas... in fact the whole of the scenario could probably be based just on that article!

Hows this...

Uk/US forces and the Russian met up around Lubeck, it was a real race to capture ground form each other before the war ended properly.

How about we set it around there...

Or the elbe at torgau a few weeks before...

Bit of both. Like all "based on fact" Airsoft events.

If we can do Arnhem without a Bridge, and the Battle of the Bulge without Panzers, then I dont see why we cant do a "based on fact" one with this.

Kermit... you're likely to be leading this one as your geographically closest...

What are your thoughts ... :)

This will almost certainly come up in the discussion tonight and it'd be nice to have some idea where its going so we don't waste much time on it.

BTW... A quick press release?

The next Comrades in Arms Event after "Churchill's Revenge" is to be held at UCAP Airsoft near Portsmouth on 7th October 2007.

We don't yet have a scenario finalized, we have several options on the go, but it will involve a mixed contingent of UK/US, and maybe Russian and Resistance forces fighting German forces in an underground bunker complex.

We're dubbing this our first "CiA Lite" event, as such the game will be restricted to 40 players and will have more stringent kit requirements. (Primarily this means no Flecktarn).

Note that due to this being a CQB arena all guns will have to chrono under 330fps with a 0.2g bb.

Deposits will be required when booking in, prices and other details will be finalised in August.

UCAP Airsoft is based 100ft Underground in the former UGHQ (Underground HQ) used by the Royal Navy to plot the progress of the Allied troops during the invasion of Normandy on D-Day June 6th 1944. This unique location provides some of the finest facilities for Airsoft CQB in the UK.

With over a mile of tunnels, rooms, and corridors as wide as streets, UCAP is the premier all weather 365/7/24 airsoft site.

It holds a constant temperature, there is no wind to deflect your shots and it never rains. We have spent 3 months preparing the site, clearing it of 60 years of debris, lighting the darkness to enable play and adding features to enhance the game play.
