I once spent night in a hotel room, that I arrived at in the pitch black night, getting really pissed off with the creaky floor boards in the corridor and the people who insisted on walking past all night, keeping me from sleeping properly.
When I woke up I went to leave the room and it was right at the end of the corridor so no-one could have walked past. 
Add to this that the chap I was sharing the room with woke up to see what he thought was me shaving at the mirror whilst I was actually having breakfast downstairs and we were a little perturbed....
