Kameraden,
We need to stop the allied advance. Our counter attack needs to be a success.
Therefore it is vital to organise our forces and strick hard.

It would be good to know what weapons will be available. Do we have support weapons e.g. MGs or Mortars?

From what i understand the 2. Zug is mainly made up of SS. What is the weapons mix?
I am from the 1. Zug Heer Unit with MP4O and a couple of grenades. Who else is joining 1. Zug?
What about the command Squad?

It will be a glorious day for our Vaterland. Cannot wait to throw the Allies out of Italy :D
Lutz

Well I'll be coming as Gebirgsjäger, I will be using a captured Garand (New gun not fired in anger yet ) also in Zug 1 will be Rob - SS with MP40 and Ian FJ with thompson so Zug 1 is looking a mixed bag  Will try to bring an MG dependant on transport :good:

Hurrah Die Gams!

I am in the command section and will be wearing my heer uniform for the 1st time with mp44, we did use the mortar last game as part of a mission but the site isn't suitable for using it to launch pyros.

Hi Necro, you seemed to know the area. Will it be rather close combat in foresty terrain? Sounds like stockung up on grenades.
Do you know what the Rest of command team looks like? Hope the General has knowledge of the area and sorts Out the recon.

Tim, if you could bring the MG along, this would surely be lots of help. 1. Zug could create an MG Squad for supression and two assault squads with submachine guns and grenades. What so you think Herr Leutnant?

The site is fairly dense/woods bushes on one side but with bigger open areas and various structures on the other. When we played there last I used precisely one grenade (to blow up some oil drums) but other people got through more. It is so wooded it is no good for mortars, but grenades might be handy for clearing structures.

Cheers

just so you aware , all squads/zugs will be operating independently and will all have different orders, also the squad must stick together and operate as a squad if we get people who want to loan wolf it and ditch there squads etc they will be going home early :)

at the last 1 we hardly saw the other allied unit just in passing from time to time, not sure about the zugs but i expect it was the same for them , dont expect this to be like a free for all open day, if that's what you want then i can tell you now its the wrong game, its all about the squads completing there orders , rather than shoot every enemy they see etc

and also take note grenades are limited per life same as ammo

I am all for Squad or langer formation tactics and operations. That's why i am Interested in WWII airsoft. So really looking forward to team work operations. I went to Hell's Highway and the German side was missing some leadership so people were operating independant in smaller groups. But i was only there saturday. Supposedly it was much better sunday.

Dont worry about me, i intend to stay all day :D
happy to support you guys where i can as i appreciate the work you put in it. :good:

was not at you just a general comment :)

we had no major problems at the last one but we were a little bit more lax on the squad cohesion as fair few new players to airsoft and ww2 airsoft :)

think it worked well last time that each squad had its own orders and carried them out , but each side only had 2 squads where we will be having 3 larger squads but over a larger playing area , will put a more detailed post up tomorrow about the mission system so folks know what i am on about who did not make the last one :)

As Lutz stated Zug 2 will be made up of Waffen SS in camo gear. As for the squad thing, great! it is just the way we like playing, we are all friends and it is the best part of playing airsoft for us. Really looking forward to it. As for weapons we have the usual mix of rifles, mps and pistols.

Whato, I am apart of Zug 1, I'll be Heer With a rag Tag Uniform.... (cosisting of Danish Tunic and Great coat weather permitting) with a Splinter Smock,
I'll be armed with an Mp40...... and Other than a small selection of German Pistols that's.... pretty much all the weaponry I have for the game.

As squad operation is intended, is there some kind of brief for newcomers how squads operate? I had it at my basic training quite some years back (roughly 25 to be honest). ...which might even be different from what is used at the games.
There was nothing at Hell's Highway. .... while playing some people used signs but i dont know, if everyone understood...

On another note, Kameraden would you be interested to meet up 15 or 30min before briefing to get to know each other. I realise that some of you have been playing together for quite some time.
I would feel more comfortable to know the Kamerad who covers my flank, saves my life with a bandage or is willing to take on the next machine gun nest with me :D .
Stut, you guys sound to be a good group. Although not in the same Zug, I am sure we will share the odd trench for some reason or organise a swift counter attack :D
I will try to be there around 8:15-8:30ish.

OK standing orders are up for the command zug :good:

I hope to be on site early, have a photo shoot :ghey: to do first then hopefully we can have a quick run through on the formations and principles of fire and movement before we start :good:

Zug 1 & 2 are welcome to join in if they fancy it.

Good news for splinter 31, I have found out today I am CO for Zug1 so not only will you be carrying the explosives but you can also be my errand boy and reader of orders (my lens inserts are not varifocal)
I'm sure I can find lots more for you to do ( remember boasting that you had shot me with your Luger?)

We can split the Zug into 2 so we can use fire and movement tactics.
Not everyone reads this forum, I haven't been on for ages. So I will organise the Zug just before the game.

Last time we had a lot of fun and digging that trench was hard work

Necro, Would be great to meet up a bit before, so we can get some across Zug communication going.
Looks like you guys have all the explosives. We might have to call you in to clean the way :D

Tim is running our squad and we want to meet up earlier for briefing everyone on the squad tactics....if possible.
