OK, two questions:

each individual scenario of this is ended with three long whistle blasts, and shouts of endex. How long do we have as standard operating procedure between the start of the next scenario (again best defined by the use of three long whistle blasts).?

Can the defenders put out their forces before the start whistle? or do they have to wait at the defended HQ until 'game on' before sending out any defenders who will occupy forward/strategic positions?

Might be a lot of whistle blowing, I think a whistle to say the objective has been taken, then a word over the radios to say game on again, you dont have to say "game on" then... more like "ok re-arm and regroup, we're going to have to defend this place from Jerry" or "next objective to take is the X, lets move out" sorta thing. Shakespear it up a bit

Defenders should be in position or finding suitable place to dig in as the game starts I think

that's fair enough with starting, 'game on' was just a term I used hear, not for the day, although the radio does jut into the 'realism' a bit. it is probably best for the commander's to radio each other at the end of the scenario, when the position has been taken, to confirm the end, and agree on the time of the next 'jump off' - as they will both have watches. Then they both work to get ready for the time agreed upon.

as a guide would ten minutes be enough time of forces to 're-organise'? or 15 to make it even if they want a sit down. :D

Radioing back and to between say dean and myself for yith would be the best bet. I dont think whistles have their place in a WWII themed game, its a little too open-day ish, dont forget long whistle blasts are usually akin to cease fire, or when someone has hurt themselves etc.

I think we should go with the subtle communicaiton on the radio to agree jump off time of next engagement.

And here I have just got myself a super loud (yet completely authentic) whistle...

I agree with all that's said, but we will need a whistle blast to confirm the end of a battle, players may not necessarily be next to a commander with a radio and so it's essential.

yes indeed, that's the main - if only - point of it

I don't like the whistle Idea, I've not ever seen one used since the days of Phoenix, they're not used at open days, I don't know whey they need to be used in this.

As mentioned, they are a necessity to inform people at a distance that the scenario is over and that they should return for the next one.

They are used in open days... simples. Otherwise it's a case of shouting "endex"... I think a whistle is nicer.
