I would be fine with that, subject to certain conditions, that would apply to the use of any site. Our October and Novemeber dates are:Oct.10th.24th
Nov.7th.21st
The dates between those would be available.
Although we did find camping very close by for the CIA crowd, apparently it was not suitable.
What sort of numbers would you be expecting? Our site has ample parking and playing space for up to around 160 players.

So where does everyone want to run this... it seems we have 3 choices!
Chris is referring to a local camp site (actually quite a distance away - not suitable if we are playing both days either side of Sat night). The camp site we wanted to use is in the same Fineshade woods as CA and run by the FC. Its used by scouts and schools that's why is has to be booked - its clearly popular as we couldn't find a suitable date for our game. I guess the later in the year, the fewer bookings they will have. Tony did all the chasing for it so probably Chris isn't aware.
Whatever we do I doubt this will be a large game, so FFZ is out.
In terms of minimial numbers we're talking 15-20. Basically enough for John to be able to pay one of his staff to be present at the site and still make some money. However that may not matter now that John and and 2 of his staff have German kit so may wish to play. That said I still feel CA may be the better option a John wants to run another WWII game of his own at some point in the Autumn.
The early november date seems like the best option to me. Further away from DH and maybe a bit cooler for winter kit without losing too much light.
Hmm... this whole camping issue with CA concerns me. It's already meant CiA had to move their event and I'd rather we didn't have to move the ruskie event again...
Plus it's a very long time since I was at CA and I'm not sure I really liked the site... dunno...
I guess I'd just prefer to work with people I already know!

Ah, k. That depends upon the site. They've had 2 in recent years that they seem to keep switching between.
I would feel more comfortable working with someone we (by which I mean Yith) knows myself.

Craig... if you're discounting CA, which would you prefer between GF and FSA?
I am, basically, fine with whatever you are most comfortable with.
Okay... I'll put it another way... which one fits a possible scenario best? 
I'd actually prefer to use FSA because I think the terrain is more interesting... but... if a more central location really is worth moving it to GF then I can see how that would be okay... but I am concerned that it may be too open at GF in November.

FSA is further north, but I also think that the recent game there may put off those who have played there this year already, maybe.
Although as we know the lack of foliage in November makes FSA a very different site, so this could be made a point of selling.
But... I'm not sure it was the location of the site that stopped people booking in this time... it was hols... work (in the case of pete) ... etc...
I guess one problem we've highlighted if nothing else is that we've don't know many sites these days as we don't go to many in the midlands... not surprising really as the majority of us are based in the north.
BTW, we discounted Matlock rather quickly... Should we have done so? It has been quite a while since we had an event there!
I haven't discounted Matlock, as I said I am happy with whichever you are most comfortable with, though using a site I have been to at least once before would be nicer than one I have not.
I think Matlock is very limited and with 4 events held there already it would be hard to not retread old ground. Personally I would discount it.
Also I can't see why you are so concerned about running a game at an unknown site. The choices of known sites is quite small so by only opting for them leaves us with few choices. I'm sure the vast majority of site owners would be most welcoming of new players and greater publicity. Plus I think part of what attacts people to games is the chance to play at a site they've not been to before.
I see no need to rush any decision either, 4 months is plenty of time. If it isn't there is no reason it has to be this year.
