I can barely contain my anger and frustration at some of his comments. The original post by Guy needs rewriting, reposting and, locking!
Pete, mate... me and craig are on the verge of asking for our money back on this one. He in particular has scraped together the money to come to this event and support you.

Capture equals depriving the enemy of manpower and also, the potential gaining of intelligence, something particularly vital to a scout unit!

For the record, I'm no walt (unlike many) and I am offended that you even think of using the word to me. I have 12 years regular army experience, 7 of them spent as a very prone to capture sniper. I have been trained in REAL escape & evasion by the experts.
I'm not going to bother continuing this pm conversation, I have tried to explain that you don't have to go through ANY of the capture procedures, the same as I have previously explained that you won't be on the go for a full 24 hours, I can't see how I could make it any plainer. The gameplan has something for everyone and we have taken a LOT of time and trouble to cater for everyone as well. As for "going on about suspension of disbelief", well, I'm a bit shocked by that, I thought that was the aim of every organiser?
I've decided... I don't think I can in all honesty attend this event.

It's not an event I want to be at any more, my excitement level is -10. It's not something I'm looking forward to, it's a weekend I'm dreading.

Craig had actually pestered Mindham to come to this. Him, Mindham and Dean can barely afford to attend.
I had at this point already decided not to attend (because of the "macho bullshit"), but when they did I booked in to support them. I don't feel I can honestly do this anymore, I'd already started to dread the event a bit but was soldiering on with it, this bollocks has just been the icing on the cake.
I think you'll find Craig drops out over this... and along with him goes Dean and Mindham.
Craig is then left having "wasted" Mindham's and Dean's money... Not something he's looking forward to...
I say, that after Schaulen, we say "fuck the russians". It's perfectly clear that yith and his mates just want to dress up in poncy kit and not actually make any attmept to live or act like soldiers for a few hours. Also, wladek's comments re:jedburgh are pretty insulting and I'm shocked at the tone of them. Let's refund their payments and maintain the "moral high ground" as Steve likes to say.

It might be worth working out whether the rest of our attendees feel this way first. If there is a majority of people who aren't interested in the interrogation element, then let's knock it on the head.
I'll also note here that perhaps this would have been worth some discussion before posting up.
I think captures are a good idea (Rich is being a dick about that) but I personally don't think bags on heads are a particularly brilliant idea and am not at all interested in either interrogating or being interrogated. I'd lemon juice it all the way.
Capture and capturing has been part of the gameplan since it was posted up. I haven't seen any German players whinging about it.
To be honest, I was surprised when yith and the lightweights booked in the first place, given the moaning about the 24 hour thing.

I think it's perfectly fair for people to have reservations about it. Yith's reaction is childish. He has an absolute fear of capture and always has, regardless of the rules used.
I'm happy to refund him if he wants to make a point.
Yith has a fear of many things! I believe that he's only interested in sisk's and wanking over stitch perfect kit. I despise the way that he has to spam threads with his bullshit and the way in which he makes new players, or, potential new players, feel that thier kit is not up to standard. He is SO damaging that I'm actually glad he's not coming to Schaulen!

I liked David's response , he summed up a lot of what we are about very succinctly.
I suggest unless it all kicks off we leave that thread alone . Looks 50/50 on support for the idea, suggest go for it with the option of ducking out with a password. TBH if you do bump an enemy patrol. needs to be stated to patrol leaders to take one prisoner not the whole lot ( and especially not Yith !)
I wasn't planning on giving Yith and co' any "prone to capture" tasks anyway!
All of these shennanigans make it even more apparent that we need to be crystal clear on what's going to be involved for Foxley. I've half a mind to not include any "proper" capture rules for it and, just have immediate execution as a consequence of capture.

Rich wasn't at Jed and has got hot under the collar about having to walk 300m to camp, not having a Russian tent and now this. Its not what we say more the way people take it and run off with it in their own imaginations .
He thought I was accusing him personally of being a wimp in my orignial post , I spent 10/60 minutes on the phone today getting over the idea that I was trying ot highlight the difference in flavour between Eastern and Western front.
I see Rich's bollox is having it's effect, Pete 59 has dropped out although not sure why yet.
Just been looking at the dates , the revised plan was posted up on the the 19th May under "what to expect at Schaulen" and Rich et all booked on in June ....Nothing we have said since should come as a surprise .
BTW also remembered a story I heard about Yith when they used to be part of Team Lightfighter , apparently at a Stirling Event they went to he was captured bagged and tagged ....and completely freaked out , screaming shouting and getting in his car and going home. Dunno , but sounds like trauma reaction of some sort.
If Wladek and co turn up I'll be curious to see if half of what he said on /Friday was true or complete bollox .

Just a quick question for you. My darling wife has informed me that she will be going to visit her brother for the weekend. Now this puts the option of attending Schaulen but i will only be able to do the saturday anyway. The reason i am asking is i know its a bit last minute so wanted to run it past someone first. Also i have seen that Pete59 has his spot up for grabs so i may see if its still available and take that option. plus this means my name wont be down as such on the list and the wife wont know about it so that will be a bonug and i wont get the nagging
