Water!! The forecast is improving. Please don't rely on CiA gerry cans for your drinking water. You'll need 5 litres for the weekend.
I've got 6 litres.
A helmet! Keeps you much drier than a cap.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Oh yeah. I must remember to put the post war czech helmet Sabre Sales sold me as Russian in the car. It is for sale and as Steiner says will keep your head dry... I'll be wearing a pilotka or ushanka.
BTW, thanks for the list... I'd missed a couple of items... Lots of water wasn't one of them and I do hope that it'll be transported to the camp by car!
Oh, for cooking, the ruskies have plans for a camp fire and Wladek has been cooking up a stew to warm up over it in a dixie I'll be bringing... I'll also be bringing a "grill" to put over the fire somehow and a kettle for tea/coffee.
Rich, you've just been promoted to Lance Corporal of the Glorious Red Army catering department! I've packed my axe, for chopping firewood (dead fall, of course), so that should keep you going!
I can't stress the importance of water. Even if it's not hot, you'll still need to drink plenty and, double that if it IS hot. I'll be ferrying kit and players to their respective campsites, so, don't skimp on water!
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Good stuff... I actually had my shoulderboards made up for the usual field promotion anyway, lmao! Craig's doing the cooking, I'm just supplying the equipment. lol.
Oooo and I nearly forgot my own axe!! Must add it to the list...
I'll add something else - INSECT REPELLANT! Any veteran of Jedburgh will back me on this!
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I was about to say.... stealing my stew glory...

You'd best get baking tomorrow as well Craig, I need a birthday cake!

I feel younger already!

So, will I need to bring water?
BEER!
CIDER!
JACK DANIELS
COKE...not the drug
Not that i plan on drinking heavily or anything , but if its raining and there is nowt else to do...
Sugar and salt are also important for obvious reasons , probably why ration packs are loaded with the stuff.
plus Head ache tablets just incase you dont take enough water on board for any reason.
and one other thing more for scouts, bring something to stop your kit rattling, extra socks or something. Not that you'll be carrying much, water and ammo really but you never know what Pete has in store for you
oh and possibly blister plasters ... always top of my list after jedburgh.
