I am also very interested in this kit!
Is there a method to shorten the M14 magazines? The kit would
not make much sense with the long M14 mags.

Thanks

i was working on a mag well filler block, that would hold TM shot shells, givving you user 28-30 rds roads.
this will allso be removable if you fancy re fitting the m14 mag,

i,m still to finish this bit of, so ye there is a method of not useing the m14 mags,
but in the safe zone keep the m14 mag out and only fit it once your ready to shoot, this will keep the M1 looks when every one is saying ohh nice M1 ;)

If you can put up with putting the mags in somewhere other than a garand belt (coz they wont fit) I would suggest cutting down an M14 midcap so its flush with the bottom of the rifle, should get about 10 rounds out of it

ye did lok at that but i think the feed would be piss,

the other option is for a shot gun mag,
its from the ACM mossberg guns, but they only hold 12-13 rds each, perhaps just a liitle to short a number,
they are cheep and do fit, bouth the mag well and garrand belt,

what do you lot think, 28-30 tm shot shells at about 3 X £25.00
or 12-13 acm shot mags, 2 X £3-4

how do the BBs feed from the shotgun shell into the rifle? Or is there a bit of tubage involved?

Warren, you still at capacity to make me 1 this week? Got more money than I thought ;)

ok having spent some time on the shot shells, i,v desided to go down the acm shot gun "mags" rather than the tm shotgun shells,

there are a few resons for this,
1) the tm shot shells do hold more bb,s BUT are quite fidaly to fit, and in a fight to fidaly, they have to go in just right and cant rotate atall,

2) they require a lot of work to get them just right,

3) the acm shot gun mags hold 16-17 bb,s are only £2.50 each, and 2 will fit inside each pouch on the garrand belt,

4) useing the acm shot gun mags you can still use the hi-cap or low cap m14 mags with do alteration at all,

5)the acm shotgun mags need very little work to get them fitting the M1 magwell, any one with a flat file or even just sand paper can do the work on them,

with the acm mags it still gives the us trooper double compaired to the original 8 rd clip, and that works out well compaired to the MP40,s 50rd lo-cap, to the 30 original,

no mate,
file down 1.5 mm of the top of the feed post,
and a V file into the feed end for the mag catch,

re tm shot sheels,
i ment they were hard to load into the M1 magwell area,

I modified the trigger guard assembly on mine (I had a spare 1 from my BAR project so I can still load the M14 mags if I need)

I modified it by taking the magazine release catch off, and cutting all the material out of the way so that the shotgun shell fits in, all I need to do now is get a tube suitable enough to make the BBs exit the spring-operated exit on the shell, through the 90 degree turn and into the gun.

Each Garand Cartridge belt pocket and each of the pouches on the M1 Bandolier hold 3 no. shotgun shells comforatbly.
