This is from the BotB game, we haven't finalised the Arnhem rules yet - but will be posted soon as (but unlikely to be different in principle).

Pistols Unlimited in Mags
All rifles SMGS etc 600 rounds loose or in mags
Support Weapons 3000

Players may leave ammo at the CP to re arm

All users of weapons identified as support weapons will have a yellow band placed around their arm.
Support Weapons must be used in a deployed mode, ie bipod on the ground or shoulder of a non-shooting team mate.

Learn to aim  , you don't need to spray 000's of round to get a kill if you can place 20 on the spot you're aiming for. It's cheaper in the long run .

Play the game... do the reduced ammo limit. Don't try to break the rule to give you the optimimum edge...

This isn't about mini-maxing your loadout its about having a good game thats WW2 themed. Who cares if you run out of ammo? If you do then you have a new (and exciting) task! Getting more from somewhere! If you don't use it all then thats great!

What I'm saying is, Locutus leave the long P99 mag at home. Use WW2 kit or as close as you can to it and pretend you're in WW2 and have all the problems that entails...

Believe me when I say that this will be a lot better game if people don't try to bend the rules to their advantage at every possible moment!

mate i would never try to break rules as i play honestly and i would like to think others do as well. i was wanting to know the reasons why ammo limits are enforced not how to break them and i was looking at possible solutions to re-supply etc like real war. i must say this be defiantly a different experience.

I never said "break"... I said "bend"... I was implying the tactic of trying to work rules to an individuals favour rather than just going with the "spirit" of the event.

I'd say using a huge long pistol mag was against the "spirit" of a WW2 event... Even though we have not yet specifically banned such an item its certainly something we'd prefer not to see at the event!

We'll ban it if you prefer? But we'd prefer not to do that as it would mean we'd have to start banning all sorts of other things... Work with us... not against us. :)

Rougly works like this . You start the day with 600 rounds . When you regen , you can reload again up to 600 rounds . Player ammo is held at a CP which is away from the forward edge of battle .If you're deperate then in theory you could return to the CP at any point to reload, provided the ammos there, although whether this would make for a good days airsofting I don't know . Bearing in mind a lot of players are retricted to single shot or semi automatic to replicate WWII weapons, having a Tommo with 600 rounds is a distinct advantage .
Re supplies to held positions also occur, but as part of the game scenario. As CW pointed out, I failed to resupply him at the Bulge event , and as a result they were slaughtered and had to withdraw (sorry Stbf  ) That made it accidentally historically accurate and had it not been for a well laid ambush by the Americans that knobbled us , I'm sure he'd be holding Trois Ponts today .
It's only yers typical milsim rule , that I'm sure you'll have come across at many other events.
Due to the weapon and ammo limits, WWII firefights tend to be more about position and intensity than just standing 25m from each other and letting rip . Unless you've got an MG42 of course  It'll make more sense on the day I'm sure.
