We seem to have (currently anyway), 28 British booked on for this, an entire platoon!
I was going to bring my Bren along and I wondered if anyone else was bringing any support weapons so we can have more realistic weapon mix? For Crete though, perhaps one MG per platoon is about right....

Excellent! Yes please do Martin, the more support weapons the better and you will have transport so won't need to worry about humping it around all day!
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

would these be a suitable substitute for KD shorts?

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.
Resistance is fertile
you will have transport
Transport? luxury! I suppose a bren carrier is too much to hope for Marching is what British infantry do best though.

Hi Martin
It will not be a carrier as the lottery win has still not come through. It will be a IIA Land Rover and Trailer.
Though there is someone in Sheffield who has a couple of carriers now, I am just not sure we can borrow one or you can bring it down!

They look based on 1950's pattern KD's so are close but no cigar. If you are buying specially for the event compare the offering from WPG.

For abou £10 more subject to exchange rates. Mine arrived in a little under a week and I have to say they are a VERY sexy pair of huge shorts!
Dash it all, I knew there was something I had forgotten to add to my last WPG order.
I thought you had shorts?
Not those shorts!
ah
Aren't the Bombay bloomer style shorts not right for Crete, anyways?

Aesthetically they are not right at any time or any place?

There are pictures of the Jerries wearing them, so I would assume you lads can have them as we stole them from you.
Big manly trousers! Mine look like this.
Big smile on my face.
Right, volunteers needed!
Engineers x 2
Signallers x 2
NCOs x 3 (acting, unpaid, obviously)
(Engineers and signallers will still get shooty shooty opportunities.)
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
I'd love to do engineer
Happy to do anything Sigs Eng or NCO.
I'm a hero with coward's legs.
Signals or Engineer for me too.
While I have Y&L insignia (slip-on & cap badge) I confess to sadly having the same for Royal Corps of Signals (Horn) and Royal Engineers (Il Giogo) too!
But may be signals then I can stick with Y&L and my signaller trade badge.
Hurrah for badges!
No KD rank insignia (yet)!
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
Sigs for me please!
