Step in Green or Splinter B are both perfectly correct for Kreta. Kine Problem!!! :good:

I wanted to wear and have just purchased Lufti tropical trousers for this one. :slap: Unfortunately all the pics showing this rig were apparently taken much later, after the initial battle. All the lads jumped in their wool jump trousers. Hey Ho!!!

Sorry Sgt.Heide but I agree with the other chaps, Taking fashion is such fun. :ghey:

Yes there were no LW tropicals worn in the invasion of Crete, they weren't issued until afterwards. I don't even think any Heer tropicals were used by the GJ as issue priority was given to the DAK.

Nope, no German tropical uniform items durring the assault. You see a lot of tropical looking shorts and some pith helmets about after day 1, but they were looted from the Brits.

I spotted in the kit lending thread mention of lending a helmet cover to cover a late pattern camo job on a falshy helmet. I take it then that you would prefer me to cover my lid, seen here:

with a cover like this from spearhead (I will be wearing a green step in on the day)

The spearhead cover is £16.52 are there any UK vendors doing this? I may have a go at making one out of the legs I am cutting off my duth coveralls

Thanks

I've got a nice splinter cover I can lend you mate, I reckon its a good look mixed with a plain smock. :good:

Thanks for the offer Boshman but I have fancied getting a cover for a while and this is a good excuse. I also like the idea of a splinter cover instead of a plain green one :good:

Hi mate, any chance I can borrow that? I have an Indian 71cm shell and the Spearhead covers are (or were last year) too small for my helmet.
I am going to speak to RAU, but I think he gets his covers from Lyndon anyway :)
Cheers

RETIRED, thanks for some truly memorable times and great people

Well if it's for blindfolds, I don't want the pink one. There might be a firing squad and I wouldn't be seen dead in pink. :giggle:
