Gareth, the allied ranks are filling pretty quickly. Could surely do with some reinforcement in my Heer unit!!
It's a possibility; I really want to get a few games with my British gear though, as it's been a labour of love cobbling it all together.
Both of my grandfathers went through the mincer during the war; one was awarded the MM in Burma but it deeply psychologically affected him and probably contributed to his early death in 1970 (didn't stop my father from joining 2 Para and going to the Falklands, with the same result that he's never entirely been the same since either, though to a lesser degree). My other grand dad essentially raised me since I was eight days old with my nan; he went through the worst of the fighting in North Africa until 1943 when he was luckily sent to West Africa, spending the rest of the war lobbing the odd grenade over the fence in to Togoland.
He's still with us, as a very fit and sprightly 93. It's been extremely poignant, for both of us, in researching and getting all the kit together and it's brought back a lot of memories for him.
So, kind of feel honour bound to have a crack with the British.
Gareth, no worries. I know what you are talking. I would probably not be playing Wwii games, if it was for my grandpa and his stories.
You are hard to replace but we will manage without you. At that time Germans were struggling with reinforcements anyway and had to enter the fight under strenght. Makes it even more realistic.
Lutz don`t worry we have a plan which suits us having less troops on the defensive.
PS Feind Hört Mit
Gordon, that is typical of german high command. Telling the troops when they are heavily outnumbered that we dont have to worry reinfircements are coming or some "Wunderwaffe" will save the day. ....befehl: Wir halten die stellung bis zum letzten Mann.
keine weiss bescheid
OK another FJ dropping into the list definite full FJ squad now
