Mi-Go was our support gunner and did a sterling job when all the K98's were firing at 45 degrees thanks to the wind on the Welsh hills! Over nine hours play it works out at 500 rounds per hour so he did well to keep his finger OFF the trigger I would say...

Was interesting how the balance of power shifted on Sunday lunch, when "single shot only" was announced. As soon as "Full auto allowed now" and a blast from Taffy's Pink whistle, nearby the woops and cheering of the Americans could be heard and a hail of full auto fire ripped through the bushes!

Yes, it didn't go unnoticed by the rest of us Webby - single shot only has a lot to commend it.

Heh... I really enjoyed using my M1 garand at F&O Huddersfield on Sunday. Semi auto was as effective as full and didn't give my position away as much. :)

Taff, I've split the OT stuff onto this separate thread so we can continue to babble inanely.

We advanced so far through that thicket on the RHS of that quarry, almost ontop of the front line of US troops before the full auto was announced, I think you got caught by the indescriminate hosing of the bushes and i face planted shortly there-after, parts of the thicket above my head was being shredded and was falling on me! Still, full auto has its uses, and I guess thats one of them! :good:

There were two M1 garands in the Brit group :good: , 50%. Well on day one, but on Sunday Deans one went all broken.

I thought it was great using mine, I got the most kills of all my games yet with it (counts on fingers of one hand...) . I think it is because I felt comfortable shooting with it at range. When I had an MP40 'sniping' at people behind little hills just feels stupid, so I save it for an assault (by me or them) and how an SMG should be used - if that makes any sense - and end up hardly firing the thing.

Go M1 garands is what I say. :good: Especially when you have to reload after every 10 shots.

Yeah using the ACM shotty mags is like using the GBB Marushin M1, but you don't have to look around for the ejected clip after, and you dont suffer from reduced playability!

Mag changes are slightly slower though as getting the mags out is a fiddly job. The GBB does that bit for you.

Could you not put a thread in the mag will with a little tab to pull (Like Barry did with his no.4)?

They are fiddly to get out - and that catch is not the most ergonomic of catches, but then again it is meant to work on the mag so meh. Threads? Oh I don't understand such things, I'll wait till Yith finds out an easier way and then do that.

Though it does get easier with a little practice.

hmmm... maybe, but you still need to activate the mag release... I can also see the threads getting a bit messed up in the cartridge belts and the bit of string will look crap hanging out of the bottom of the gun.

Well I've not tried it in anger yet. I have only got 7 AGM mags converted so far... Just another 14 to go. That's enough for a whole belt full and one spare.

I used a hicap when I played on Sunday... it was only an open day!

I had 10 in my bandoleer that you gave me. I shall have 12 and another 2 on the way for St lo. It was fun to go through them defending the 'hut' against Chomley while shouting words of defiance and... well missing, but it felt good. :D
