Sure a greatcoat would be suitable attire in the early summer heat and mountainous terrain?
I have loads of plain green trousers that would fit him

I didn't mean from a 'not looking correct' point of view, moreover a overheating and dehydration point of view
hehe cracking!
Oooh taffy, put me down as a non combattant medic for the Airborne please
Not supposed to be shot at, but if hit sh1t happens, take it like the rest of the team.
Had a really good experience at the PBI game operation lightning with the ARRGGGH MEDIC, instead of hit... WW2 non-combat medics wouldn't have been armed.
Medics were provided with a pistol for self defence.

didnt always carry it though alex, lots of germans and italians shot first and asked questions later. plus a lot of american combat medics were quackers and other religions that dont believe in weapons, they volunteered for medical work in the front line, but wouldnt carry a firearm.
Medics are sniper targets, unarmed or not. Sorry, that's the way it was!
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
This was discussed at the weekend and Medics weren't included in the Geneva convention until 1946, at the end of the day an Americans an American and a Germans a German. If I saw a medic running for a man in game, I'd pop him same as any other guy. That's why in game you protect your medics from fire and make sure they don't get hit.
Medics had pistols at the start of the war and started to receive M1 Carbines right at the end of the war. I do think that changing the term 'Hit' to something more appropriate like actually falling to the ground and screaming 'MEDICCCCCC!!!' would be better though.

Make it so, Spiers - it's your shout. I think everyone at Op Lightning will say that it really added to the atmosphere.

Will discuss with Taffy but reckon that he'll agree. FALL DOWN (and that is the operative part of it) and shout medic. Don't stand there like an arse and say hit. Never liked that and you get in the way of the field of fire.

I thought that the only ones who targeted medics were the Japanese, on the whole? In Europe there was a general consensus of not shooting at the red cross.
If I was a front-line soldier in t' game I would not shoot at the red cross, but being a commando I may not have the option not to - being special sneaky buggers.
Oh and yup, argggh, fall over, Medic! is substantially better then the stand up with your hand up alternative.
some of the highest decorated soldiers in ww2 ( and ww1) were medics/ doctors. the first man to win the victoria cross twice was Lt noel chavass of the RAMC in the first world war. very brave men who shunned weapons so the enemy knew who they were and didnt shoot them.
