some ref images from osprey book the Japanese Army 1931-45 (2)

got the first 1 but the images are pretty naf,

the solomons 42-43 images (last image) the most apt for the game but they were fighting in a lot warmer weather so what ever floats your boat realy

but again unless a officer in game try to stick to standard infantry ranks :)-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

Thanks for the pictures. I'll probably stick with the type 98 uniform set but will definitely camo up the helmet as in the last picture.

Regards,

Ralph

That is very useful, thanks. I was doing a bit of research yesterday and the US Field Manual on Japanese forces mentions the extensive use of shelter halves instead of raincoats both as rain covers and also for carrying stuff (rather like one of those pictures). That would be easy enough to replicate.

Would it be OK to use my Mark IV helmet (as mentioned in the looks like guide) - it already has a hessian cover and I can easily replace the current net (scrimmed up BAOR style) with a plain one and then turn it into Japanese style head shrubbery.

Cheers
Martin

I'm guessing that they we're probably captured from the Chinese army/armies some time during the 30's, that gun did seem to get around. It's not only the base for the Bren, but the Spanish used it in the civil war, the Germans used it on practically every front during WW2 and the Chinese and Japanese used it in the Far East. It's also a good stand in for practically any top magazine fed machine gun of the time. Bloody good purchase as far as I'm concerned!

Pretty sure the Japanese also built clones of the Zb26 in occupied Manchuria.

Not sure where to find pouches for one though.

I found some original ones but they cost a few hundred quid!

Hopefully be able to get some as I'd like to use my Zb26 in the big weekender game if support weapons are allowed.

Ralph
