Our rules for uniform and weapons are quite simple ..

Please no officer uniforms if you can help it unless you are a squad leader etc and everyone must wear headgear

Japanese - Any WW2 Japanese uniform , navy or infantry - hiki do a great range for some good prices and see below for a link for a easy look alike for those on a budget - headgear must be worn cap or helmet

US- Marine uniform would be ideal but we will except standard infanty - with marine headgear either a marine hbt cap or m1 helmet with cover :)

Weapons - Any ww2 Rifle or smg can be used and we also allow wooden stocked M14 , ww2 pistols are allowed to be carried but ammo comes out of you limits

Please note this is a lower Ammo limit game, though we wont stop SMGS we would prefer a nice healthy amount of rifles :) (rifles with low ammo mags or no mags ie kar98s mosins etc will be allowed to reload in the field when not under fire)

There are no support weapons for this game, unless provided

the Americans can use a bar if they must but it has the same ammo limits as a smg/rifle which wont last long at all

we are happy for people to try there best to look the part and thats great but what we dont want is folks thinking they can just change there hat and use there russian loadout etc , any problems just ask we hope to have some loan kit if needed :)

NO HPA GUNS AT ALL

NO real swords, knives or bayonets , though rubber knives may be used

Japanese basic guide http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/japanese-basic-impression/

new guide i found but may be listed allready lol http://www.reenactor.net/ija/1a-une_early-war.html

link to uniform and weapon guide etc http://aredsunrising.weebly.com/requirements.html

cheap Japanese cap search http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... p&_sacat=0

Japanese cheap belt set - thought here are others on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WWII-ARISAKA- ... SwEK9UD22D

Hiki Shop - has great selection of japanese gear and some marine but never seen the marine items http://www.hikishop.com/wwii-japan-army-c-3_13.html

While I'm interested in this game I'm just wondering which uniform to invest in. Are there many people with Japanese or marine uniforms out there? If there's an abundance of one I'll be happy to get the other to help with numbers (though I've always liked the marine uniform)

Regards,

Ralph

It certainly looks doable and I'm sure I'd be able to get a few bits from hiki.

I have a Japanese uniform and webbing. Webbing was off eBay from India and is really good for the price. I will use my Mosin Nagant just to be different, though may take my K98 as a backup.

I should be up for this game as Japanese, I'll base my impression around my Russian kit with an IJA cap, and a few bits from my British and German kit (my German medics pouch is quite similar to the Japanese ammo pouch :) ), I just need to make sure it doesn't look like Ivan has collected a few war souvenirs :slap:

I'm not really up on Japanese but my Russian top is similar to this IJA Showa tunic from Hiki...

Is that appropriate?

I'd be up for that.

I'm now looking to get a full IJA uniform from hiki but need to do a bit of research into which type to get. It's all a bit confusing!

EDIT: Just seen the link from above and will go ahead and buy that. Also I found this reenactment kit guide that seem easy enough to follow. http://aredsunrising.weebly.com/requirements.html

Ralph

be fine :)

we done expect everyone to rush out and buy japanese kit straight away or just get a few bits , same as we dont expect the americans to swap over totaly marine kit , but headgear is a must to help tie it up a little :)

If you're buying new kit, from what I've read the cotton Type 98 uniform is the way to go (used throughout the war on all fronts), followed by the tropic 2/3 shirt and trousers (I think was more common mid-late war).

Hope this helps, Moss.

I'll get some of the stuff closer to the time as I have a birthday coming up. It's a shame there isn't anyone making any Japanese weapons. I suppose my mosin will have to do.

I do find the IJA quote interesting. I used to study Aikido back in the day, it was interesting that the founder (O'Sensei) fought in the war. I do have a blunted katana we used to use for Iaido practice and the rules only listed no real KNIVES or BAYONETS, sooooo

Ralph

I suppose going round hacking at people with a katana wouldn't be particularly sporting

Definitely count me in for this game. It'll be a nice change from playing as british or german. Will brush up on my Japanese.

Ralph

I wanted to sort out my Russian kit in 2016. Maybe i can buy so it is kind of close to Japanese. Help would be appreciated.
@Chris: i would be interested to buy one of the Japanese caps as suggested for ~£8.
