Holy SHIT!!!! How the hell did they secure them!?!

I've been trying to get films in for ages, but always hit an H&S brick wall.

That site is AWESOME. Fireball tried to get in there years ago, but again, the owners bailed at the last minute.

They used to have a real problem with spores from fungus getting into the lungs.

AFAIK, it's owned by HFM pyro: http://www.hfmgroup.com/drakelow/index.html

I'll have a chat with Mick on my game day at Matlock and arrange a visit.

Looks interesting - a UCAP nearer to hand (for some of us!).
F&O have their first day there on the 30th Aug.

This would make it different though: "The site consists of 250,000 sq ft of tunnels and some very cool woodland on top with two entrances."

Yes, it's an outstanding place and really easy to get to.

Perhaps I'll call them and get in there before anyone else does.

Good plan. I do *not* want either P(urile) B(loody) I(diots) or Josh trying to get in there before we get a chance to...

Spoke to Jamie and he's more than happy for us to take a look.

The site's not ready yet and he's not sure about what he'd charge us per player.

I'm potentially free on Sunday 13th which is when they have a game if anyone would care to join me. They're running games on Sundays, every fortnight from Aug 30th.

If you want to break the journey you might be able to stay at mine on the 12th. I say might because I'll be coming back from Skye and not sure if I'll be home then!

sounds good, can make the date but lets grab it first for the new year .

BTW CW shouldn't we let Pete into this bit ? Don't bother cleaning it up first let him have it warts an' all . Well you can take out Kermits "anmal" pictures perhaps :lolpanda: :giggle:

Good point about getting Pete in on this.

Nothing that needs cleaning up!
As said, no need to hassle Pete until 6th Sept when he has made final decision...

Anyhoo, no need to get excited about the tunnels until we have seen them - the pics show an awful lot of modern stuff down there and they may be a complete nightmare to run a game in.

Dates available? Well, Josh has a high profile game with Stirling in January that is very likely to sap some players. February is empty and would be well clear of post-Christmas empty pockets. Underground game would be good for winter when woodland games can be miserable.

Feb makes sense to me.

Is there some sort of Russian focussed game here? Greatcoats and Pete's Russian helmets would work down there. Underground tube railway system? Tunnels under Stalingrad or Berlin? Clutching at straws here as my knowledge is scant!

Or early war German distraction attack on Maginot line?

I was thinking Russian, but it needs a bit more research.

It would be nice for the Germans to be the attacking force in a fibua game for a change at least.

Stalingrad was reknowned for its battles underground. Hell, the Germans even came up with a new phrase for it - "Rattenkrieg"

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Heh, I'm sure I have played Stalingrad underground in Call of Duty!
