So, what do we think of this then?

I don't mind - I don't think it will even confer any advantage to be honest. Night vision is always a double edged sword - if the enemy know they are in play then they will be on the lookout for a dull red dot to shoot at!

And it will be useless in the half-lit sections of the site.

If he wants to do it, let him I say.

I say a big "NO".

I'm a bit sick of reading some of his posts, he comes across as very pompous and self obsessed. Why fuel his ego by letting him bend the rules to try to gain an advantage? The darkness of the tunnels creates tension and uncertainty. No need to add to that by letting one knobber have an IR device. Besides, even a Gen 1 IR device will be 10 times clearer than a WW2 IR device. If he wants a Vampyr, let him get a real one (and then, don't let him use it! ).

Edit - There's also doubt about how many were made and issued to combat units. They certainly would not have been issued to someone guarding an underground factory/storage facility.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Hehe, PD does come over rather 'full of himself' that's true. Heh, he is just enthusiastic that's all. And he's a Yorkshireman.

I don't see this as 'bending the rules' - it does lend a frisson of novelty. Anyhoo, the rules are ours. For instance we could allow it as a top secret item in store. It can be retrieved at a game cue and used but mustn't be captured else that's it - gone. Tactically, I've never seen the point or any advantage in IR in airsoft at our engagement distances. You either see the dot and open fire or just blind 'em!

I'm not really fussed either way - I won't argue the point for ever!

Or, let him use it and hump it about but then, task him with jobs which keep him away from the dark bits! :giggle:

As long as its very, VERY shit Gen 1 tube. No gate protection on it at all (fucks the tube if exposed to bright light then). Oh, and one of the Ruskies gets tasked with putting a BB right through the lens ;)

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Already said what I think openly , let him do it .

TBH it's historically correct...an obsession with Wunderweapons to win a war that diverts attention from a real deficit of troops and normal materials . It's sweet .
Oh yeah and only 1 ! Not a whole legion of them

PS PDS a bit full of shit £5 says Vampyr no show on the day due to "tech" issues LOL-- attachment is not available --
