Not a lot of difference between the NKVD and being a screw (at least on my wing!)!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I dropped DaveB a PM thanking him for letting us use his vehicles in-game and what a difference it made to the event, how much the players enjoyed the 222 and how good it looked on the vid. And I offered to reimburse fuel costs.

No props Dave..i enjoy bringing it as it would be a shame not to get full use of it and like you say the other players love to see it.
I would'ent hear of taking any money Dave..its Nice's to be able to contribute so how.
Cheers Dave see you Sunday.
Almost forgot..Martin C/o of KSK had a blinding weekend he could not stop talking about the day all the way home. Him and some others from there group are will up for Jedburg.

Been corresponding with PD today, this included:

...Speaking of support...... Can we at AFRA be of assistance with maybe getting Drakelow for two days? Putting the sides in "Proper barracks" (I just walked into that control room with the big map and imagined it and the next room with beds protruding from the wall and equipment stowed away etc. We already talked about it in AFRALand and we would be happy to come and help with the set up - getting props in and furniture down there etc. as well as providing more financial support........ I just loved the venue and see the possibilities for expanding it........
The reason for doing a two dayer at Drakelow is that the weather doesn't matter..... and time is an abstract concept - You could put people on guard and let people sleep........ and add so much more to the gig.......
Have a ponder and maybe pre or post meeting at the weekend we could progress the idea?

...Yes, there definitely is more potential for Drakelow, esp over two days...
As for CiA involvement - well, we have our five events planned for 2010 now and we do have a 'policy' of not returning to a site in less than 18 months as we like new challenges and there is so much to have a crack at. I'll ask the team, but I don't think any of us would be much fussed to do Drakelow again this year. No reason why we can't support an AFRA event though!

Yep, what you said.

I wouldn't really want to sleep down there to be honest. The air is so thick with smoke and god knows what other shite after a day's playing has kicked up all that dust.

Gets my vote...........support them as we can, but take no active involvement.

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Erm yes......crushed PD . Will wait to see what that looks like .

Steve in answer to your point about following the plan , I'm sort of game , however the plan is only ever that the plan ...
I'm less inclined to pull players back when they are "winning" unless there is something time specific such as a pyro barrage to do so . both at Ariel and Borsyn the idea of everyone ends up here.... bolloxed things up . Since we are going more realistically for "here's the task and here's how we'll do them" rather than walk everyone round a site a la airsofting day game "need ot be at the flag for 4pm" then beleive the reliance on timend plans should be less.

Plans are there for a rough idea, but in the field , go with it is 100% correct. Its a battle ......not a dance .....Ginger ... :happydance:

Anyway was lovely to work with you all again ,and yes my enthusiasm for carrying on with this was re vitalised by this weekend ....enough ot push for four games. Been too long away from the the front .
Getting Pete on board .......truly inspired idea ....very glad you accepted , your deffo CiA through and through .

Actually, the problem was this - the Germans weren't supposed to 'pull back men'. More that the action would be focussed around the German HQ. We couldn't possibly tell people to fall back - impossible to find 'em! So how? By removing control points so as to bring players down the site. I went round at 3pm and found not only all the control points to be in German hands but also still in place. Russians should have taken control of something at least, then started rolling up the site. Instead, they punched through the site unmolested (unsurprisingly, as 25 Germans were spread across the whole site) and found HQ empty.

No matter, we sorted it and punters were largely unaware things hadn't gone to plan and the narrative made sense. Oh, and they DID have a fantastic day out, so alls well that ends well.
