Riggghht, so that's agreed then - Steiner plays Agutter so he doesn't have to tie his girlie hair up for this game...

I knew she had a home in Cornwall - thought she'd moved back to the Home Counties! I'm not a stalker I happened to find the info on internet
Meh, she'll always look good. Although I might get put off for life by Steiner's looks-like impression.

In the book they are dressed as regular polish paras (although there is strange reference to 'camouflage trousers' which implies the windproof suit as its the only cam torusers in wwii uk service)

In the book they do all their fighting in german uniform, the film has them retain their denisons, para lids etc.

I prefer the book, i sometimes re-read it its that good.

Although the film version was not bad...

The weirdest bit in the film is the homemade m3 half track with turret....

Its a white scout car in the book and using a custom turreted half track made it a total pig for me to find the right minis for a 20mm wargame i did of 'tehl'.. i ended up using an m15 GMC...

In best trainspotting mode...

The 37 webbing is too dark its 37 pat but has been dyed like 44 pat.
The polish beret is worn like a backwards flat cap not in the British style *and* if they were polish sas it would be red not grey.

Polish airborne wore grey, polish sas wore red.

Trousers are either 'denims' or some weird costume piece but should have been khaki.

Denisons do look sus and i cant think why

The bazooka is a post war one too i think.

In the book the paras have a full sections worth of firearms including brens and rifles, in the film every man has a sten meaning the Americans could in theory moon at them form 50 metres away and be relatively safe.

However its still one of my fave ever films.
