In the book the paras have a full sections worth of firearms including brens and rifles, in the film every man has a sten meaning the Americans could in theory moon at them form 50 metres away and be relatively safe.

But the US troops in the film also only have (with exception of the halftrack) greaseguns and M2 carbines so the Germans could do the same to them.

I think the bazooka is a post war 3.5in super bazooka.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074452/goofs

The one that cracks me up in that list is the 70' OS Landranger maps on the wall instead of 40's ones!!

"Our DZ is the field which is equidistant between the rocky outcrop, the public house and the youth hostel in grid square 45-72, near the triangulation point on the bridleway"

Could be they look a little too green IIRC, entirely probable they were made specifically for thefilm as the parkas in where eagles dare were.

Agreed. Well and truely.

Also, In the film, Cains charicter insists they wear FJ gear under, in the book its himmler's idea and he resists it, also, wernt they supposed to have silent stens rather than Mk 2's?

FARB! :P

Depends on what part of the war the story is supposed to be set, if it is late war it is less farby, the colour of the webbing the yanks are using would suggest late war! ;)

How about FJ trousers and Boots, a dennison and the cap of choice? Or just a FJ officers gear, complete with crusher, leather pilots jacket, silk scarf and swaggerstick

Just read the film synopsis, says its based in 1943, so the M2 might've been doubtful ;)

I was referring to the fact that everybody had an M2 Carbine. They were only introduced in the last few months of the war.

Heh, fantastic to have a game where no one can criticise you for using an M2 'cos it wasn't used in Europe'. The film is proof positive it was.
