My DVD arrived on Thursday so gave it a good watching... what I find hillarious (especially with films of that time) is the fact that they used british actors who had no german accent whatsoever.... not that it ruins it in any way, but still funny!
like the bit at the start where the guy with the eyepatch tells his orderly about the plan and he says "GOOD GOD" in a very pompus british accent! hehe
Have you got the 'Special Features' DVD Webby? Caine explains that it was deliberate for the posh accent rather than camp 've vill vin ze vwar'. If you haven't got it I'll send it ya - usual cobbled together 'special features' but some interesting contemporary interviews/docu nonetheless.

Good film though, was interesting to see that they used the blood packs to show when the character was hit, rather than them dramatically clutching at their stomach with a look of extreme pain on their face like other movies from the time!
