ok as a few asked about staying over as no camping ,

well have had a look around and can get some cheap rooms at the travelodge at m6 Hilton between j10 and j11 , which is about 10 miles ish from the site as not far from my house :)

can get a family room at the moment for 3 with extra pull out bed for £27 for the room lol !!!!

and if wanted to stay the night before to be relaxed its £22 for that night

now can only book for 3 folks per room but if folks were on a budget sure more could cough cough sneak in  loool

worth a thought , its also quite a big service station as well :) and has a burger king as i pop to that :good:

I stayed at the Travelodge at Sutton Coldfield on Friday night; about a ten minute drive to the site.

Wasn't bad, I think it worked out at £35 for the room and there was a pub adjacent to it. Downside seemed to be I'd either picked a weekend when the national association of noisy bastards was having a convention, or the bloke in the room above me was tapping his secretary pretty hard at 3am.

There's also a Travelodge in Tamworth that's good. Similar sort of price.

one of the reasons i chose this 1 as its close to the site , its cheapest and as its on the m6 easy to get to and find and as weekend they tend to be slow :)

but there are quite a few in the area

there is 1 closer to the site but was more pricy £61 for the sat eeek

How many people are staying at the Travelodge then??

If I can get a lift down to there, as well as a lift from there to the site, that'll be a +1 for jerry

Having taken this advice on face value, I'm booked in however, a mate reckons that I'm staying 50 minutes away from the site!? Is this right?

I looked at the route map as listed above. From site to hotel. This actually sends you right past my front door. :-D

I can assure you that from my house it takes 10mins to get to the motorway and 15mins to get to the site.
(max!)

As the hotel it's on the south bound m6, if you intend to stay there before the game you will need to take care not totake the motorway South on your way to the site.

Looking at the satellite view. You should be able to avoid the flow of traffic onto the motorway by leaving the hotel car park at the entrance and turning right! Or by scooting across into the petrol station and then into the service station car park.
Then follow the lane to the T junction and turn right! Then take a left to pick up the A462 which will bring you to the m6 junction 11 where you can pick up the A460....
