OK, I've got one reasonable 1600 stick ni-mh stick battery for the Sten but being me, I thought I'd order a 'spare', just to be on the safe side.

On 3rd Dec ordered said stick battery from Vapextech UK, via e-bay - projected delivery date 5th-6th Dec .... ideal.

Late afternoon on the 6th, had an e-mail from 'Paddy' @ Vapextech advising that the battery that I had ordered 3 days previously, that was showing 'In Stock' on the 3rd, showed 'In Stock' on the 6th and is still showing 'In Stock' now was actually 'Out of Stock' and not available until next week - did I want to wait or have a refund ? One terse email later and refund requested - except that I've got to wait for the money to leave my account before I can have it back again !?

1600 on Thursday, 6th, ordered the same type of stick battery from Component Shop, who in fairness I've had problems with before, for roughly the same price - fingers crossed ................

Postie delivered today a package from Component Shop, containing a battery ............... the WRONG ONE !!?!?!?

So now I'm £34 down, still don't have the right battery, and am seriously p'd off ...................

HOW HARD CAN IT BE for British companies to take orders for gear, have it in stock, and despatch the right kit on time .............. :banghead:   :x

Rant over, thank you ..........................

Cheers for the offers, guys, much appreciated :good:

I can rig the 'incorrect' battery (9.6v 4x2 mini, instead of the 9.6v 8x1 stick battery ordered) up on the outside of the stock and run a lead through the cocking lever slot if neccessary - not ideal but shouldn't be that noticable when black nasty'd.
