FilmSim proudly presents…
D-Day ‘The longest Day’
Candleston, South Wales.
November 21-23 2014
£85 with a £45 deposit via PayPal
£100 on the gate!

June 6th Omaha Beach 1000hrs .

After days of delays and hours of waiting, General Eisenhower’s invasion of Europe has begun. Our story follows a fictional landing made up of both US and UK forces. After battling off the beach and across the sand dunes, the combined forces must work together to remover the German defenses and seize their targets, ready for re-enforcements to land. This landing is made up of US and British Infantry units who have trained for months for this chance to free Europe and are ready for the fight.

The enemy is a made up Landser regiment, however elements of elite Panzer and SS Regiments who have fought in Russia, Africa and Europe and the dogged Fallchirmjager are waiting in hidden pockets along the line. In the background, Rommel is waiting to and the eyes of the Reich are on them! There is no room for error, the whole war depends on the outcome.

What to expect.
This is a full battle weekend with command structure via an OC (overall commander) and their COs (commanding officer) in the field. Field pack radios will be issued to each platoon sizes group 8-16 and we will use tactical maps to mover the troops around the site. We have had 7 years since the last beach landing and we know what were doing. There will be key objectives to take, hold and/or destroy over the weekend as well as visits from High Profile offices in the field. We will be using the FULL WW2 FilmSim rules, so please make sure you know what’s expected of you before you book on.

Times
You can arrive any time after 1pm on the Friday and NO later than 9am Saturday. We are walking out to the beach then.
Friday and Saturday night will be social evenings, but we will battle from 10am Saturday until around 3.30pm and then from 10am Sunday and wrap up around 1pm.

The site has toilets, showers and a main building for social gathering. There will be free uniform hire and period gun rental available for £30 for the weekend. We will also provide a FULL airsoft shop on site too.

This is in my opinion one of the best woodland sites in the UK and we are very lucky to be able to hire it.

BOOKINGS OPEN 1st AUGUST and we are limiting the battle to 100 players ONLY. No more places will get opened up. This is strictly first come first served.

I have put in day off requests at work but with 2 other people wanting that weekend, my chances are slim. Shame cos it's about the closest game to Bristol I've seen yet :(

The site is crazy money in season, but also the beach is deserted so were more likely to get a go on doing the beach landing bit. Which is why November.

TBH anyone that has been will tell you, every game we have run there, we have been sweating our bananas off. EVERY TIME lol. :good:

If I remember correctly the event in 2007 was in November, and it was almost like summer, I slept under a basha it was that mild. Candleston seems to have it`s own climate.
Here`s a little reminder of the 2007 event.... :good:

I was going to book as yank but can go Axis if you like, my loadout is gebrigsjager not SS though. I suppose I could switch my uniform about a bit.
Just spoken to the wife and she's happy to do the sewing so will change my gear over to SS, should be mainly collar litzen, will have a look what else is needed. If I havent got one by then will need to borrow an officers cap :good:
