All sounds good. Do you want to hang fire on it until I speak to Craig et al this weekend?

I've already mentioned that we may have to alter the plans whilst having a massive bitching session about stupid people on this forum conversation with Craig on Facebook.

Wish I could be there this weekend....but I'm off dancing at an awesome event in London. Should be at the September FL. Are you playing as Comber?

Ok then, go for it. Best to do it asap.

Are you playing as Comber?

Yes but, I am going to be quite low key at this one.

Have you been watching Ray Mears' Wild West series?

BTW, Charlie getting all pissed off about the change of plan....he hadn't even registered an interest in Hut 9! How were we to know!? :slap:

Yes, it's very good!

I hope you chaps noticed my little poke at the "immersive" splitters on the Hut 9 thread!

Excellent. On D-Day itself the Taping Party lost all their mine tape and all mine detectors were lost too, they cleared a path to the battery wire by hand clearing. Luckily for us on the next day equipment was becoming available, well one detector at least!

Any thoughts about resistance roles. I'm pretty sure the resistance were all tasked miles away on things like rail disruption and were not in the combat zone, so not particularly relevant in this game. Meh, we have tried to be inclusive and look where it got us!

In the quest for 'more real' games why not put emphasis on surrender for this game? In real life it would be very unusual, on a local level, for soldiers to keep on fighting when a total wipeout was inevitable, despite what Generals' orders were. When your MG nest is surrounded and the options are never to see your family or a year or two in a PoW camp the reality is that there is not a contest, you put your hands up and hope for the best.

We can play on the British (and German Army) sense of fair play and not kill in cold blood. Not least the many of the Germans side on the coastal defences were either not A1 or committed to the cause.

But, beyond reality, it has a very useful game purpose and that is progression through the site. I don't want to encumber the game with prisoners - every one finds this a bind - so when one someone or a group of players is captured then they are 'passed back to prisoner escort parties' who aren't actually in the game. In reality they make their way back to the centre of the site then back out to behind their own lines to be re-tasked to keep the game flowing. All dead players do the same thing - out of the game into the middle then back out to their own lines.

Yes, good idea. It will get them back into the game quicker as a pure game mechanic as well, because surrendering is quicker than waiting to be bandaged and/or bleeding out.

OK, well, doesn't look like that's had any effect on our bookings, and meanwhile Norlicht has taken more bookings in a weekend than we've got in total.

The last 900 Days game was so bad that I sacked it in before the end. Bad planning, bad execution, cheating was rife and general shitty play.

I really don't want to bother any more if that's what punters like.

Why would it have any effect on our bookings? We haven't announced a game yet!

I've started writing up the scenario and games requirements and done some graphics. Are we going for times as before or just Saturday with Friday and Sunday stopover? What price are we going for - what was CA charging us again?

Well, no real interest is what I mean.

CA are charging us £40 per head for Friday - Sunday.

OK, I have started populating the new slot, unseen by anyone else.
I have taken liberties to get things going, subject to agreement from us all.

Some questions to discuss:
I have come up with a game title. I suspect everyone will refer to the game as 'Merville' so it need sto be in the title I think! But anyone any other suggestions?

Shall we make this an all Saturday event? I would make it more manageable and get us out of the dreaded sluggish, half-hearted Sunday morning after a good social.

If we made the event £45 would we have sufficient to cover costs?

Do we need pyro? (Brits could do with some bangs to breach/silence the battery. Some match fuse would be awesome!

Do we have mortars any more?

All looks good to me. I'd say pyro would be a good idea. Jay kept the mortars if I recall. They wouldn't be any good in those woods anyway.

Do we need to do another recce? I'd say that we do.
