Okay I've got far too much kit on my belt and I've seen people with their colt Mag pouch attached to the M36 suspender straps at chest height. My question is how? Mine only has a horizontal belt loop and a mysterious metal hole on the back. Am I missing something? Are they just taped on?

Yeah I've got my shoulder holster setup ok it's the M1918 magazine pouch I'm having issues with.
There's a picture of a guy in Airborne kit in this month's AI with it fastened to the suspenders too.

Ah sorry was with you now, if you look on SOF they sell the "airbourne" modified bracers. Basically another set of bracers which you were differently across the chest. They used them to carry more ammo.

Simple solution: carry less stuff!

Got a photo of your belt order? We might be able to suggest some alternative arrangements.

Hehe... yeah! That's the best solution!

However if you really must carry stuff then here's a couple of suggestions.

I find pockets are excellent places to put pistol mags. :)

A GP bag can carry quite a bit of crap as well.

BTW, the "mysterious metal hole" will be a popper to attach it to a pistol belt. On the left hand side of the buckle at the front... which is where the pouch should be. :)

You'll find that carbine mag pouches have the same popper... for the same reason.

Yep the best idea is to utilise the pockets of the jumpsuit better, and that article in AI was the biggest load of rubbish I've ever seen. No wonder it was sponsored by SOF, it looked like SOF had supplied every single item of kit and then told them how to wear it. How they dared call them Pathfinders is a laugh, nevermind Airborne. One of them didn't have any webbing, another no helmet nets, no scrim, no camo paint (most Pathfinders looked like black and white minstrels), no UNIFORMITY...yes I'm being picky, but to write that they are 'accurate' kind of topped it off.
If there are any of the people in the article on the forum I do apologise for this rant but I would be happy to converse over the accuracy, vague or otherwise via PM or in open forum.

Sorry to possibly cause confusion but what I meant in my earlier posts was what the chap had in the back left line of this photo. With the mags being worn vertically across his chest.

The odd thing is that the pouch I have (Epic) has the fastener too high for the belt (SOF), Not that I can wear it there anyways. I tried it last week and it was a major pain to get access.

I'm running a SOF Riggers webbing set with 2 large Rigger pouches (Thompson/M14 mags), canteen, musette, aid pouch with a M3 shoulder holster. I keep the Rigger pouches quite far back to keep access to my pockets and so I can go prone easily.

I've put it over the shoulder strap for the M3 and it seems a lot better. Sits right in the centre of my chest away from all my webbing and pockets and pops open easier too.

Sorry again for the confusion but even I am not that dumb. :giggle: I know they are magazine pouches (i have some!) but it wasn't standard the way there were done, but the airbourne modified there kit to hang there. They sold the modification pre done on SOF along time ago, but i havent been able to replicate it, or well anyway. I think they used additional webbing / suspenders for the modification but couldnt find it when i searched lately.
