Alright,
I'm so frustrated both sexually and Gunually!!
I now have three loadouts nearing completion.
- 101st Airborne
- 1st Infantry (Doughboy)
- 82nd Glider
Only thing i don't have but want more than anything is a gun1
I can't get a CYMA M14 or THOMPSON (Production/mould issues- will this ever be sorted?)
AGM M14 selector switch are S***te!
What other option do i have..................?
I want somthing that will work for all (M14 -Garand conversion= perfect. Thompson = good, acceptable allrounder)
I need a GUN! (Now i'm a member of AFRA)
What would you do?
I'm not sure you need to worry about the M14 selector switch - leave it on single shot and it will never have the chance to wear down!
Good point CW,
Especially when i convert it too a Garand, won't make any difference
Yith- That Thompson seems a little steep due to the repairs and no battery. Would any of those repairs cause problems down the line?
How would 101st with Sten MKII look
better a sten than an m4 with ris rail.
Well considering its the only tommy gun available then that's not too much. The "repairs" look very minor indeed and it does come with extra mags.
The price also includes postage.
If you think its a little high make him an offer. He does say that he is open to them. Though personally I reckon it looks like a fairly good deal.
I've been using my AGM M14 for over a year now and the fire selector is still fine. As long as you're not constantly switching it back & forth you shouldn't have a problem.
Apparently this is the way to fix it to prevent it going wrong but I've not tried it yet;
The fix:
1) Remove the stock, two small springs, and a plate on the side of the mechbox.
2) Polish (I used an emery board) the pins of the cutoff lever. I also cleaned up the holes in the plate and mechbox with a round hobby file, but if you don't have a tiny round file, doing the pins only should work as long as there aren't any burrs around the holes. Do this until the lever moves with no resistance when held in place by the plate, without the springs.
3) Reassemble. You will never have a problem with semi auto again.
Id agree with Chommers. I've a got AGM converted garand. I leave mine on Semi-Auto. Thats the whole point of owning a rifle. Im removing the fire selector all together soon, so that elimates the problem.
I've owned 2 AGM M14's. 1 was bought with the selector problem. Seller missed that bit of information off the sale details. But was cheap to fix, just frustrating.
The 2nd is my Garand. Its just had an upgrade. Shoots great!
I agree about the Thompson, giving that they're not being made anymore I'd say paying that much is a bargain...it's either that or a TM one for £270 approx.

Cyma M14s should be available soon
I've got one on order. If they come in I'll give you a shout. They should be in by the end of next week
Cheers.
I would say the M14 M1 Garand conversion. I don't have one myself yet but have played with Lipton's and it is pretty nifty. Also it's pretty 'real' having lots of M1 Garands.
I will be getting one at Easter time myself.
ive already ordered the M14 conversion looking forward to it
