Im looking for reference photos and information regarding the use of custom made helmet covers for example as shown in the film Fury where you seen many of the infantry in the film with what looks like custom made helmet covers that cover the neck.

Below are the only photographs I could find showing much in the way of custom helmet covers rather than camo netting.

Anyone have any info or know how these covers might have been made or what they might have been made from, the first two are especially what I am looking for.

Hi, I worked on Fury in the costume dept. The covers are US Gas Hoods, they were worn mostly to keep warm and dry. When new they are covered in a really nasty greasy anti gas compound that is difficult to remove completely even with industrial washing machines.
The hoods are pretty difficult to find now, I had to have 30x of them made especially for the film in Poland.
However I did find a couple of original examples from
FNG supplies.
