Like I said, my ATF one rocks...... ![]()

ATF jump suits do look nice..but you have to agree they are expensive..I know your moto is "You get what you pay for". But for new starter's the prospect of spending in the region of £200 (including postage) for a complete jump suit set, is a put off. Especially with a long list of other equipment to buy. It certainly made me re-think my ww2 airsoft experience.
I'll prolly end up getting one eventually. But while my "chinese import" is doing excellent, and looking great. Im sticking with it.
Howdy all,
I received my jump uniform today. I am pretty impressed with it as a whole. Everything is double stitched. The buttons, zippers and pop-its all look good and function properly. The sizes must run a bit small as their 38R jacket fit me fine in the shoulders when I expected to need a 36R. The arms area bit long, but nothing out of the ordinary. The pants are a good fit at the waist (will need a belt), although probably longer than the advertised 29". I received 82nd and 101st patches, but no 48 star flag. A minor disappointment, but considering that I'm going to make the 101st pocket brassard with the extra jacket pocket it really isn't a big deal. It just means I need to buy the 48 star flag instead of the 101st patch.
The cloth is relatively lightweight. The jacket itself is fairly heavy and seems hard-wearing. The pants feel the flimsy-est, but I suppose I am used to heavy weight BDU fabric. I'd imagine that they will hold up fine to roaming around in the woods.
The leg-ties are a bit disappointing. They are made of a real light-weight cloth and don't appear that securely attached. This may duplicate the originals, but I cannot say for sure.
The color, in comparison to some of my real deal gear, is perhaps a bit green, but nothing like some of the puke greens that I've seen before. I'd say it could just about match traditional OD3. The reinforced knees and elbows are nicely done with triple stitched pieces of canvas. Very nicely shaped, which is probably historically inaccurate given the numerous jackets that the riggers had to modify in a rush. The waist belt is attached to the jacket and removal would require cutting it off.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. The uniform probably pales in comparison to the newer ATF uniforms, but for my purposes I am fairly certain it will be fine. Only time will tell.
My shopping experience with Memory1945 was pretty good. They were quick to answer my questions. The shipping took longer than the 4-6 days their ad. cites and the package was delivered USPS not UPS or DHL. Not really a big deal. I had to go to the post office to pick up the item as I was out of town on the day of delivery. So its nice to know that the expensive uniform doesn't just get left sitting on the porch.
If someone has a different uniform set and would like to PM me we can make some comparisons. Doing this would allow use to determine if the SoF, Epic, WPG are really all from the same manufacturer. Just an idea... but give me a PM if you're interested.
Whats the maker on the label inside one of the lower jacket pockets-something like Rainbow MFG?

No label in any of the pockets to speak of. There are no markings of any kind on the jacket aside from a very faint 38 written inside the jacket's collar.
Hmm,of all the "generic"jumpsuits ive had from various sources theyve all had a plasticy type label inside one of the pockets.
No big deal was just wondering
I asked a similar queston when i was sewing on my insignia. There should be a diagram floating around on here. On mine i have my 101st patch about 1 or 2 inches from the top seam.
Have a look on the website "trigger time". There's hundreds of pics of airborne guys.
I've done a bit of googling and it looks to me like the div patch should be 1/2" down from the shoulder seam on the left arm. (also says this in the G.I. Collectors Guide)
Most of the written instructions I've found seem to apply to service dress jackets rather than field ones, but having found pics of M41 jackets with them in that position on the at the front website (and other places) I think it may be the same.
I doubt the "official" rules would be as strict regarding field/combat clothing so as long as it isnt by your elbow im sure around 1/2 to 1"" from the shoulder should be fine.
As for official sizes for the patches i have no idea as all my 82nd and 101st patches are repro
There were no official sizes or placements. Many patches were made by many different manufacturers so there was a lot of variety.
Also the differences in sleeve length may have been an issue, especially on dress uniform.
The guide on hardscrabble (link below) was from an official manual, so that's your best bet.
