wonder web is basically fabric glue try turning the sleeve inside out and heat up the inside of the patch this should reactivate the glue

Why does everyone want to be a sergeant? What's wrong with being a private?

I did it because the helmet that i bought from Ebay came with the NCO stripe painted on, already. At the time i had a thompson, so thought platoon sergent would be a good start.

I didn't do it to order people around.

I hav thought about buying another jacket and putting private stripes on it to use with my garand loadout.

If the heat method doesn`t work get a can of carburettor cleaner, a quick spray and the glue rubs off like semi liquid rubber :)

Will it stain the jacket?

As soon as the patch is off douse the area in warm soapy water. The glue stays rubbery and you can rub it off with your fingers, done it on my grandaughters scout jumpers a few times when my daughter glued the badges on in the wrong place.
