Hi all

Received my m36 suspenders from kavster and set them up tonight ready for a open day tomorrow. However theres a slight problem. where i've had to tighten them a little etc the extra material at the bottom on each front attachment is hanging down reasonably far. Maybe i've got my belt a shade high(slightly above my belly button, but i figured from other pictures thats the right place). But even if i lower it further there will still be quite a bit of excess material. So where do i put this excess material?

I tried threading it back through the bottom join loop and then back up though the loop the D-Ring is on but the d ring loop only has room for one of the hang downs. so where the heck does it go? I was looking at the churchill pics and none of you lads seem to have it hanging down.

advice much appreciated.

Cheers

Rhys

Cripes, only sent them yesterday!

I never did anything with mine, but you could duct tape them into a roll?

I did, yeah. Alternatively, you could tie them with a rubber band. Perhaps webby has a more realistic viewpoint.

Lol this is exactly the same as one of our first ever posts about a year ago.

Unfortunately can't seem to find it now.

We just left them dangling in the end.

More usefully, here's what I have done with mine. I don't have anywhere near the extra length you have but:

Re-arrange your straps so that it runs through the length adjuster from the back, through the first slot, out to the front then back through the second slot to the back (as Barry's photo). Then run the strap down to the clip D ring (from the back to the front).

Now back up with the strap to the adjuster again. This time pass it from the back to the front of the bottom-most slot, out to the front, then in the second-from-bottom slot towards the back. The free end is now inside the loop that goes to the D ring, therefore can pass through the D ring once more. If this isn't sufficient to take up the excess then the whole section can be taped or elastic banded neatly as all the excess is hidden within the structure.

If this isn't clear then I'll do a photo, just ask!

I did a search and everything lol should have just looked at the bottom of the page.

Will try your method as per the picture above though - it's got to be better than the dangly bits - cheers.

Buy originals that aren't as ridiculously long or.......

Lower your belt, above the belly button is a bit high, it should sit around your waist just above your hips really, the same sort of height as the belt on your M42s.

I have my belt tightish around my waist, my suspenders dont really bear much of the weight, moreover supporting whats attached to them such as a musette pack. I have mine like the pic Chomley posted anyway, threadded back through the buckle and inbetween my body and belt.

Don't get me onto the rolled up socks in pockets again! Already been burninationed by HS about that already before CR!!!

Makes it look like I have more gear on but a fraction of the weight.
