Can anyone tell me which is the best to get an M41 jacket from, epicmilitaria or SOF military please?

Im looking for the best coloured/fit one. Also, if anyone has one, what is the fit like on the relative chest sizes (are they too large etc?)

Thanks
J.

Yeah, I have an epic one and I think it's good. I don't think the lining is quite 100% right, but externally it looks fine to me.

Mines an Epic one too, I dont think you can really go wrong with them. Not had any dealings with SOF

Everything I've bought from Epic was, well, ...epic. The few items I have bought from SOF (as well as those items other fools....sorry, friends, have bought) have been sub standard crap.

Hi !
I bought my M41 from SoF, and its got a nice outer shell, the "wool" lining is alright, but the buttons ALL need re-stitching. I would agree in advising getting one from Epic, and if you want to get one even better - At the Front or What price glory are there too.

Just about to order from EPIC, i'm not too sure which size to get however. My chest is 37-38", would that be too small for the 40" one? Im only about 5'9" as well if that helps.

The Epic jackets do shrink a bit when they get wet for the first time, so, order the slightly larger size and you'll be fine.

Thought i'd put this in here to save clutter as you chaps know your stuff. I've seen an M1 helmet for sale...i know it will need respraying as its been sprayed a brighter green for some other loadout that the chap did. Are all the bits inside it correct for a rangers impression do you know?

Re: Colour of shell, how bright is "bright green"

I shouldnt worry too much unless its dayglow green, if not there are plenty of references for the OD paint about.

I painted mine with Humbrol enamel paint, NATO green colour, its just your bog standard matt dark green! If anyone came up to me with a paint swatch, I would probably tell them where they can schling it :)

Just got the Jacket and it seems to be fine :)

The sleves and length of it are pretty well spot on, so hopefully it won't alter too much after a wash, chests good too. One thing to mention is that the zip is on the opposite side, normally the pull tab on zips is on the left, but its on the right on this. Is there a reason for that?

Also, my HBT trousers are really nice...too tight however...soon to be in the for sale section! D'oh!

Simple solution. Don't wash it.

IIRC Americans zip up the opposite side, like UK women's clothing.

It's like the brakes on bicycles. In the UK, it's left hand for rear brake and right hand for front; but in America it's the other way around. I nearly killed myself the first time I rode a bike there.

yup, will take the sheene out of it too, so less likely to "strobe" as you walk through different light levels
